Hi I'm Michael

I am a husband, father and grandfather who cherishes my family. I am a physician and private pilot. I am a Mormon.

About Me

As a practicing surgeon, I am honored to have the daily privilege of helping those experiencing great physical and emotional trials. The road to get here has provided my family and I great challenges and experiences. I started college later than most and was a husband and father of two. Being a full time student and full time electrician to support my family, the limited family time we had was greatly cherished. As the journey continued through medical school and residency our family grew to include 5 children. Only an incredible and loving wife along with an abundance of the Lord's blessings allowed us to successfully pass those memorable years. Together we have conquered many great challenges in our lives and hope to take on many more together. We now enjoy seeing our children bless others through their talents, gifts and career choices in very different walks of life. Our 5 grandchildren are precious to us and help us see the greater joy and love a family can provide.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt God's Spirit confirm that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contains the fullness of our Savior's Gospel and that He personally leads and directs His church through a living Prophet. I was blessed to come to a family with loving parents who taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how living it brings great joy. While I felt the Spirit frequently and grew in faith, my personal conversion came later. After high school, a strong desire to know for myself led to great pondering and studying the Book of Mormon, Bible and messages of the living Prophets. Through earnest prayer, I did receive a personal and undeniable confirmation of the truth of this living Gospel. I know that only with the fullness of His gospel and through His delegated priesthood authority can we take full advantage of our Savior Jesus Christ's atonement, participate in necessary ordinances, make sacred covenants, and return to live with Him and our Father in Heaven. It is my great desire to help my family and all others feel the joy that comes through living as our Savior would have us do. I feel so blessed to know where I came from, why I am here and that my family and I can be together forever.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily through trying to be of service to others, trying to mimic the example Jesus Christ and keep His commandments. Through various church responsibilities I have been given precious opportunities to learn gospel truths, serve others and become a better disciple of Jesus Christ. Whether teaching the gospel or performing service for those in need, I continue to feel the joy that the Savior has promised. While I fall far short of my desire to be a perfect disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, I know that He loves me. Through His atonement, I am able to repent, become clean and be lifted up again whenever I stumble. I am so grateful for His restored church and living prophets on the earth today which help me live my faith and share the gospel with others.
