Hi I'm Michel Ann Edwards

I grew up in California. I'm a student. I'm a ballerina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ballet has always been my passion since I was little. Dancing is a beautiful outlet for me to express my emotions. I am so grateful for the lessons dance has taught me about myself and others. As I embarked on my journey to college in January 2012, I realized how much I love learning. I have been blessed with so many great teachers who inspire me to serve others with my knowledge. I love meeting new people and learning about their different backgrounds. I know that we are all children of God and equal in His eyes. Beauty is all around us in this earth that God created. We can all experience joy in this life; we just need to keep our eyes open to find it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in progression. I love being a Mormon because it allows me to work harder every day to become more Godlike. I follow the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that this church allows us to become more like God. For example, through the teachings of the church's modern-day prophets, we are commanded to abstain from alcohol and drug-use. When others laugh at me for being drug-free, I do not understand their ridicule. I love that this gospel teaches us to abstain from addictive substances. I am much more free as my own person than if I were held back by the chains of addiction. We are also taught to be honest, true, chaste, benevolent, and virtuous. Why wouldn't I want to have any of those qualities? I am a Mormon because this church requires hard work in order to progress. I believe the hardest part about progression is that you have to want it; but, if you truly desire to become a better person, this religion can offer you the way. Above all things, I love being Mormon because Christ is the center of our religion. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, progression is possible. I want to be like Him to show Him my gratitude for the sacrifice He made for me and you. I have seen the hand of God in my life. I have seen His hand bless my joyous family. I see the light of Christ in my mother, my father, my sister, and my brother. I see it in strangers on the street. I believe we all have potential to be like Christ, and this gospel provides us the means to become more like Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith just like any Christian would -- by trying to be like Christ. Christ is our perfect example. By following His example of service, I can bless the lives of others. When we serve others, we are serving God. Furthermore, Jesus is our perfect example of love. By loving others unconditionally as Jesus does, I can be more like Him. Along with serving and loving others, I really just try to live my faith by standing as a light in this seemingly darkened world. When others are experiencing heart ache and sorrow, I live my faith by helping them see the light at the end of the tunnel. If a brightness of hope seems to be non-existent, I try my hardest to spread the light of Christ to those in need. The only way I can spread the light of Christ is by living like Him and by obeying his commandments -- this is how I live my faith.
