Hi I'm Dan

I love Screemo, Dragonball Z and my Family, I have had diabetes since i was 12 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now i am serving a mission in Milwaukee Wisconsin, when i get home i plan on either attending LDS Business college or BYU majoring in Business Marketing. I love cars almost with a passion and plan to have something to do with them in my future career like producing them. Family is now very important to me and will be a priority to me for the rest of my life, I pray I can be a great husband/father someday also. Some of my interests include things of my childhood, like Dragonball Z, Transformers, SideswipeCorvette Stingray is my favorite transformer, especially when he cuts SidewaysAudi R8 in half! I love Music of almost any genre except country and most rap

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised mormon, but didn't do everything that i was supposed to. Then there came a point in my life (around 18) where i needed to find out if everything my parents have been telling me were true...it led to God and asking him, i felt that i needed to do my part first, so i read the Book of Mormon and prayed, and the witness i received is undescribable, but very simple, i knew at that moment that our heavenly father loved me and brought forth the Book of Mormon as a blessing to tell us that this is his church and his gospel restored through a modern day prophet, I am so grateful for this.

How I live my faith

I live my faith right now serving a mission for the church in Wisconsin, sharing with people the many things that the lord has blessed me by living his gospel.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

The best way to know our heavenly father would be to simply to talk to him through prayer. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No we are not, me being the second youngest out of ten and seeing all my older brothers go and serve a mission (6 of them) made me think that i was required to go, until my older brother decided he didn't want to go on a mission, it made me realize that i am not forced to serve a mission... but when the time came my parents asked if i desired to go on a mission, I prayed earnestly whether i should go or not and then after receiving an answer said yes to the call. My older brother eventually served a full time mission in Uganda Africa and i am currently serving in Milwaukee Wisconsin and i wouldn't trade it for the world. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We help everyone, we are all Gods children no matter what religion, occupation, backround, or race. We should all help each other as the Savior would help each of us, out of love... Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Every member of the church can receive the blessings of the Temple as long as they have directed their life toward our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and live worthily to be in his House. There are no secrets in the Temple, although the things that happen in the temple are Sacred and should not be shared casually, it is the lords house. The things that go on inside the Temple are beautiful, there are 3 main things that go on. First: we can participate in baptisms for the dead. There have been so many people who haven't had the opportunity to receive the gospel in this life, and so we give them the chance to partake of this sacred ordinance. Second: we receive endowments where we are endowed with certain blessings that our Heavenly Father has in store for us, we can also do it for those who have passed on. Third: Eternal Marriage, so many times in movies and life i have seen and heard 'till death do you part' at a wedding, in the Temple husband and wife can be married for 'Time and all Eternity' and be sealed to their children forever. The blessings of the temple are so amazing and so beautiful that I desire it more and more. I love the Temple. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in our Heavenly Father and in his son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

The Priesthood is the Authority and Power to act in Gods name. We need Gods authority to perform such things as Baptism, he cannot do it himself because we cannot be in his presence, so he calls his servants to act in his name under his authority. So many blessings have come from having Gods Authority on this earth, such as baptism and receiving the Gift and power of the Holy Ghost, Being sealed to my family for time and all eternity, and so on... I am so thankful that god has given us the Priesthood once again so i can bless my family now and forever. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Truth and happiness in following our Savior. Show more Show less

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

When we dress immodestly or behave badly or use foul language, it sends immoral and wrong thoughts to those around you causing them to be tempted to be unchaste, have bad behavior and use foul language, you are an example to those around you, be a good one. Even though i am not a father yet i would say teach them in a loving manner and help them see that they are a beloved child of our heavenly father. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

First you must do your part, read the Book of Mormon and ponder its teachings and then after reading it or even part of it go to the source of all truth, our Heavenly Father, and ask him if the Book of Mormon is true, and I know without a doubt in my heart that our Heavenly Father will answer you, because he has done the same for me... "And by the power of the Holy Ghost we may know the truth of all things" Moroni 105 but we must ask in Faith willing to act upon our answer... Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe in the Bible as long as it is translated correctly because it is the word of God, the Book of Momon does not take away from the Bible, but compliments the truths that are inside it. I love the stories in the Bible, one of my favorite is Daniel in the Lions den, because if i was in his place i would be terrified, but his faith that God would protect him and calm the lions was amazing.  Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, We only worship our Heavenly Father God and his son Jesus Christ, we see Joseph Smith as a Prophet, allowing us to know what God desires of us. Joseph Smith was a great man but we do not worship him.  Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a knowledge of something to be true. When someone says "I would like to bear my testimony" it means that they would like to let you know how the truthfulness of the gospel has blessed their life and that they know without a doubt that it is true because they have received that knowledge from our Heavenly Father. Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

A lot of people have misunderstandings or misconceptions about the church, Some believe we worship Joseph Smith when in reality we only worship God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. While others believe we have multiple wives when the practice of polygamy in the church stopped almost a hundred years ago. There are also a lot of made up things about the church such as people believing we have horns, last time i checked i didn't have any... The only way to find out what is right about the church is to go to the source and then to ask god himself if it is right. Thats what i did. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

The church is a church of service, the missionaries not only give up there time to serve but it comes out of there own pocket. We pay our own way to serve this mission for the lord, in some cases where one isn't able to pay for it the church steps in and helps them, but other then that the missionary uses money they have saved. It brings to thought WHY would someone sacrifice there time, money, abilities, life, family and friends for 2 years if they didn't know that this was true. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The word of wisdom is basically the law of health that the lord has provided for us so we can keep our bodies healthy and clean. The main things that have been asked of us to abstain from are of course harmful things such as illegal drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, but then they also ask us to abstain from tea and coffee, why do we abstain from things such as that? Well how many times have you heard people say i need my coffee in the morning? its almost as often as when people say i need a smoke. Coffee and tea IS addictive, it takes away your ability to choose if you want it or not. I used to drink coffee and tea all the time with the thought that i was fine and that there was nothing wrong with it, well i found that there was something wrong when my bishop asked me to stop. When i started drinking coffee it started out maybe one to 2 cups a week but then ended up that i was drinking 8 to 10 cups a day, i was drinking more coffee than water and i was reliant upon it to keep me awake, but when i didn't have it i would get shaky and sick and lose my appetite, one day i decided to stop cold turkey and ended up getting stomach ulcers from it, I still get the temptaion for coffee and tea all the time, luckily it has lessened. A lot of the time we don't really see that something is addicting such as coffee or alcohol, until someone we know who cares about us asks us to stop, then we see how hard it is to stop. The word of wisdom is here to protect us, not restrict us. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes they can, but only by someone who holds "authority" to do so, knowing that a marriage can last beyond the grave is an amzing blessing especially when deciding who you should marry because you look at the "eternal" picture rather than just this life. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Because there are people who are looking for truth, but they don't know where to find it, that is why missionaries proselyte because they may be the only contact that they would have ever had with the church. Show more Show less
