Hi I'm ♪ Kenneth ♫

I'm a San Diego ♫music♫ ♪major♪..or a nutritionist/dietitian major a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a missionary in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission AKA Titletown. And it's without a doubt my choicest memory in my life. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm no good with these "about me" things. I'll just put what I enjoy. Let's see... I like to play guitar, it's the instrument I've chosen to use in my major. I also will be picking the cello up once I get home from my mission. I've recently thought about becoming a nutritionist or maybe even a dietitian or something like that, we'll see how that goes. I enjoy anything at the beach, except sun burns and jellyfish. But I surf, scuba dive, snorkel, and I like to fish. I love movies, I still like Pokemon, I guess it's one of those childhood things we hold on to, along with that, I also am trying to have a Transformers collection.. Concerts are another thing I like to go to, whether it be a symphony, or local bands, or something big. Almost any music goes for me. In general I just like having adventures and making memories that'll be with me forever.

Why I am a Mormon

Unlike some people I don't have some really sweet conversion story. My conversion has come over years of following what I've been taught and through that I've received personal revelation that the principle I'm following is correct. I've attended other churches and I don't get the same peaceful feeling of Christ's love in the other ones. There's answers to questions, and any doubt or confusion can be solved. This is why I'm Mormon

How I live my faith

Well....I am serving a full time 2-year mission for the church I love so dearly. So what I'm doing is going around for 2 years sharing what I believe, praying and hoping others will be sincere about learning and following the commandments. And in order to truely teach people so that the spirit may bear witness to them that this message we share is true. I must be following all of Christ's commandments, so I study the scriptures often, I keep God's commandments, I do service to others. Well...basically I just try to follow Christ's example and what He truly set forth.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

♪ Kenneth ♫
They will share the message of the Restoration, which includes why there are so many different religions in the world, why God took his priesthood off the Earth, Joseph Smith's story, and how the Book of Mormon came about and how it will bless your life if you read and pray from it. They will also talk about God's plan for each of us. Called the Plan of Salvation, also known as the Plan of Redemption, and the Plan of Happiness. It entails the creation, the fall, pre-mortal existance, our life on Earth, the space between death and resurrection, judgement, and the 3-degrees of glory which are talked about in Corinthians. There is also the gospel of Jesus Christ which includes the fundamentals such as Faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism for the remission of sins, the laying on of hands to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the end. The Word of Wisdom(which talks about what's deemed good and bad for our bodies.) and the Law of Chastity(which is about being virtuous in thought, word, and deed.) are included as well with the rest of God's commandments. When you do have the missionaries come over, pray about their message and what they share with a sincere heart relying solely on God and you'll know for yourself by the power of the Holy Ghost that what they shared is true. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

♪ Kenneth ♫
We proselyte for several reasons. 1. Christ had people do the same thing to proclaim the word. 2. Sometimes that's the only way for people to be found. 3. We can't expect others to come knock on our door when we're told to be actively engaged, and serve Him with all our heart, might, mind, and strength. I had a friend who got mad when I told her about what I was going to do, and she told me that I'm a terrible person because I'm going to be a solicitor. We're not soliciting, but we just care about your eternal welfare, and we know, without a doubt that our message will bless your life. As well as prepare you to meet God. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

♪ Kenneth ♫
Nope. We help everyone who needs it. It's what our savior taught. If we are to fulfill the 2 great commandments, we must help those in need! However, when we help others, it is a hand up, not a hand out. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

♪ Kenneth ♫
Because we're the only church on Earth who has that authority. If authority wasn't a requirement, Christ could've just gone to anyone on the street and have them baptize Him. However, He walked all the way to where John the Baptist was and had him perform the baptism. So we invite all the follow that example and be baptized into Christ's restored church by the proper priesthood authority, to receive a remission of their sins. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

By our own money and some members donate to the missionary fund.  All the money that's given is put into a big pool and it's just given out monthly to missionaries. Show more Show less
