Hi I'm Charone

I grew up in Oregon and now live in Utah. I love my husband and four sons with all my heart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have four sweet boys and a fabulous husband. I love to play with my sons, cook (and eat), and organize. I love learning new things and am always working on different hobbies. I have always loved music--I played the trumpet for several years and am learning how to play the piano. I grew up in a tiny town in Oregon. It was there that I learned the values of work, honesty, and integrity. I am a big believer in working hard and striving to do my honest best in all I do. I also developed a love for the outdoors and I try to spend as much time out with my boys as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the happiness and peace that comes from following the principles of the gospel. I have felt in my heart that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore this Church to the earth in these latter days. I know that the keys of the Priesthood of God were restored to Joseph Smith and have been passed down in an unbroken line to our current prophet, Thomas S. Monson. As I have sincerely prayed for answers to questions I have unfailingly received answers that confirm my faith in Jesus Christ and this gospel. It is true!

How I live my faith

I feel that our faith is one of service and giving. Whether that be visiting someone who needs encouragement or helping a neighbor in need, I feel that any gift of service, no matter how big or small, makes a positive impact.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ lived a completely selfless life. He was always giving and serving and doing. My faith in his teachings and atonement has grown as I have focused on doing and acting. We learn in James 2:17-18 that, "faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works." I believe the Lord wants to guide, direct, and help us along our way in life. He wants us to be happy. However, we need to show Him through our works that we are worthy of that guidance. For me this has meant daily fervent prayer, daily scripture study (not just reading, but studying and pondering), attending church, and serving others. I have found that my ability to learn and grow and feel of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love for me is directly linked to the amount of effort I am willing to put forward to be in tune to the Holy Ghost and live a worthy life. My faith has grown as I have stepped forward into the unknown with a sincere desire to do what is right. As I have been, "not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work," (James 1:25) I have been given so much in return for what little I put forward. I testify that the promise in Malachi is true: "prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

The scriptures have become a handbook of answers for my life's questions, stresses, and problems. I cannot imagine navigating through day-to-day life without them. Reading about the experiences of Christ on the earth as well as those of His ancient prophets, followers, and dissenters has opened my perspective to the things I should say and do and what kind of person I want to become. The Book of Mormon in particular presents so many answers to life's questions. It provides insights and doctrine that have expanded my understanding of Jesus Christ, His mission on the earth, and our Heavenly Father's plan for us as His children. Through reading and pondering it each day I know who I am, why I am here, and where I will go after this life. This knowledge brings me peace and happiness and purpose not only as an individual, but also in my role as daughter, sister, wife, and mother. Show more Show less
