Hi I'm Anna Maria

I am proud to be a member of the Church of JESUS CHRIST.

About Me

I am single. My parents were Italian/Polish; I have 3 younger brothers. I love to sing, dance, drive, go to the cinema, go out for meals (Chinese is my favourite) and meeting new friends. I sing in a choir. I have a degree in psychology and now I am a Holistic therapist who cannot work due to Sarcoidosis (Autoimmune disease). Everything happens for a reason so I am happy with my life.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 15 I left the Catholic Church and began searching for the True Church of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father found me first when two missionaries called at my parents home. I was not allowed to join the church as my parents forbid it. When I was 17 I was about to join a singing group to sing in Europe but that very week I received a call from my Auntie in Switzerland asking if I could help her by becoming a nanny to her 2 small children. I have always wanted to be a professional singer, so I prayed to my Heavenly Father to see what I should do. His answer was so strong that I knew I had to go to Switzerland. I cried my heart out as my dreams were shattered. The first night I arrived in Switzerland 2 missionaries came to visit my Auntie and Uncle as they were members of the church. I heard a voice say, "This is what you are looking for." I turned to look behind me, but no one was there. This was my first experience of being guided by the Holy Ghost. I asked to be taught the gospel. I knew without a doubt it was the True church of JESUS CHRIST. I was baptised 11 days later. My dreams did not matter any more. What I had found was worth more than all the dreams in the world.

How I live my faith

I have taught primary children, the youth, worked in the Genealogy library, taught to conduct music and taught Sign Language. I have conducted music in many meetings for almost 36 yrs. I sing in the choir. I once conducted a YSA choir to sing in front of about 1,000 members. I have also been a part time missionary for 9 years when I first joined the church. I love to do Helping Hands Days as a church when we help in the community wherever help is needed. I love doing service for others as the JOY I feel is like no other feeling. Each day I try to live the gospel as Christ would; to be a good example and pray that others will come and see what makes me the person I am and receive the joy that I get from being a member of the church.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Anna Maria
To get to know our Heavenly Father we need to get on our knees and talk to Him in the name of His son Jesus Christ. We need to be humble and open our hearts and imagine He is in the room with us. Talk to him as you would your best friend sharing everything with him. He desires to hear from us often and longs for us to get to know Him. He is a glorified person who loves us more than we can imagine. As we are here to gain faith, we cannot see Him yet but He has left us with a special gift, PRAYER. When we prayer daily we open the windows of heaven to receive many blessings He has in store for us. He answers ALL our prayers if they are sincere, sometimes the answer is 'no' but this is still an answer. Our Father knows what is best for us. As He answers our prayers and we feel of His spirit in our lives; we get to know our Father in Heaven. Heavenly Father is my BEST FRIEND. I love Him with all my heart and Know that He, Christ and the Holy Ghost live. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Anna Maria
Heavenly Father loves ALL his children and want everyone to return Home to Him. Many of His children have died without the knowledge of Christ. When Christ died, he went to the Spirit World (1Peter chapter 3). There everyone will have the opportunity to hear and accept the gospel. Spirits cannot be baptized so we can act as proxy and be baptized for the dead. (1Cor 15:29). Show more Show less
