Hi I'm Caleb

I love music, I love people, I love life, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single 20 year old. I grew up in a small town in northern Utah. I am currently serving a mission for the church in the 'Texas Houston East' mission. It covers southeast Texas and a little of southwest Louisiana. I graduated High School and am planning on going to college once I return home. I love sports of all kinds and spending time with good friends. I love working out, the weight room is my best friend. I love ballroom dancing. I love singing, I'll sing all day long! I worked at a WONDERFUL restaurant for 2 1/2 years before leaving home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is what brings me happiness. I was fortunate to grow up in a good home with a wholesome family. I had some friends, however, that didn't get the same blessing. I learned from their experience that happiness comes only through living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have also come to know that the Book of Mormon is true. Alongside the Bible it testifies clearly and perfectly about Christ and his purpose. It also talks about our purpose and what God expects us to do in this life. I have come to know it is true through sincere reading and praying. I got my answer from a knowledge and a peace when i read it. The Gospel of Jesus Christ means everything to me, it gives me comfort now that I am doing the right thing, and a comfort for the future and what it has in store for me.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the church in southeast Texas, and I love it!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Caleb
You will often find missionaries out on the streets spreading the message of our church. This is because we have been commanded to "Go ... and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" -Matthew 28 19-20. We have been commanded to share the gospel, or the good news with everybody. More than that however, it is something that we want to share with everybody because it is something that has made us happy. For example, when i eat some DELICIOUS chocolate cake, i want others to give it a try, because i know they will like it. That's really why we are out proselyting. Show more Show less

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Caleb
1 Corinthians 4 20 says "For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power." We know that it is important to have the priesthood authority from God in order to perform a baptism. Christ when he was baptized walked many miles, from Galilee to Jordan, in order to be baptized by John the Baptist. Instead of being baptized by just anyone, Christ knew that it was important to be baptized by someone holding authority from God. Where does this authority come from? Hebrews 5 4 teaches us that "no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron." We know that a prophet has been called in these days and been given authority from God. The authority has been passed on by the laying on of hands to worthy men. Show more Show less
