Hi I'm Maegen

I have taught 75 kids how to read. Now I teach my own kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I used to teach elementary school. I loved teaching my students how to read and see their eyes light up when they accomplished great things. I am now the mother to two crazy little boys. We have a lot of fun, and we discover the world together. I have been married to the love of my life for almost 10 years! We have had many struggles together and things have always turned out ok. I love to scrapbook, sew and do other crafts. I love spending time with my kids. Our favorite things to do are have picnic lunches at the park, attend story time at the library and hang out in front of our house with our neighbors. I wouldn't trade being a stay at home mom for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it is the only thing in my life that I can depend on to be constant. I know that there will be church on Sunday. I know that there will be people who love me for me. I know that I will feel of God's love. I know that I will go home a better mother and wife.

How I live my faith

At church I teach the youth, specifically the girls ages 12-18. I love being with the girls. They make life seem so simple. They are full of love and excitement for life. They make me excited to live. I love to do little random acts of kindness. Every time I bake a treat (my kids love to help!) I think of someone to deliver some to. I believe most of our problems can be solved with a plate of cookies! My kids and I spend some time making a card and then we deliver the treat. It helps them to learn to love service and it helps our friends know that we truly love them and think of them often. Just the other day I was telling my husband how bad I felt for the kids participating in the rodeo because it has rained on them every weekend they had a competition this year. He said "why don't you bring them some cookies!?" It would have been great if I really could have brought them some cookies :o) I try to remember God every day. I begin by praying and reading scripture. Then through out the day I imagine what I would do if Jesus were standing beside me. This knowledge helps me to be more patient with my kids and more aware of what is going on around me.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Only some Mormons are allowed into temples because only some Mormons have lived worthy enough to enter. I teach the youth to look at it from this perspective. If you go to class, do your homework and study hard you will get good grades and you will understand the material you are to know. Same with going to the temple, if you do the things God has asked, keep your life clean and pure, you will be able to enter the temple. There is nothing secret going on, just sacred, and is to be treated with respect. Show more Show less
