Hi I'm Dane

I'm from the great state of Wyoming, give me a ball and I'm happy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fourth of five children born to my parents. I'm a huge fan of my family...they're pretty awesome! I grew up in Wyoming always having a good time. I love catching trout up in the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

Because of the things I know that are true. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that we have an inspired prophet today. I know that the plan that God has given us, The Plan of Salvation, is a real. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he suffered for each one of us individually. I know what my relationship is to God and I know that he loves me. And I know that all of these things are found in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

With an eternal outlook. I am here for a reason and that reason is to prepare to be eternally happy..or unhappy. I try to make my decisions according to what it will mean in the eternities.

What is the Law of Chastity?

The Law of Chastity is a commandment that has been given to us to help us keep ourselves in harmony with the will of God. It prohibits sexual conduct outside of the bonds of legal marriage. Once we are married we remain faithful to our spouse in any and all situations. It tells us to stay away from anything that is immoral including pornography. We learn from the Apostle Paul how to keep this commandment. "Flee fornication" he said. "Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." When we refuse to follow this commandment we cause our Heavenly Father a lot of suffering. This sin is one of the most grievous in the sight of God. The Savior suffered for all mankind that they may overcome their sins and weaknesses. When one breaks the Law of Chastity, they desecrate the Atonement of Jesus Christ. However, if one realizes the wrongs of their acts, because of that atoning sacrifice of the Savior, they can be forgiven. Because of the severity of the sin one is far from the presence of God while breaking this law; but because of the severity of the sin think of how happy Heavenly Father is when one repents and draws closer to him once again? What is faith?

From the scriptures we can read that "faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true" (Book of Mormon: Alma 31:21). "Faith is the substance (assurance) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (KJV: Hebrews 11:1). We learn as children in church that faith is knowing the sun will rise and brighten each new day. How do we have the hope that the sun will rise tomorrow? Because of the evidence that we got today at sunrise. We can proceed forward with faith and hope because of the many answers and assurances that God has already given us in our lives prior to where we stand now. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

I don't know what else you could call a people that has so much love for Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the living Son of the living God. I have been taught that every Sunday since I was 3 years old. Without Christ we would be completely lost. He is the most central part to the whole Plan of Happiness that God has given us. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It's pages are full of references to the Savior, it outlines the his gospel, and it shows us how we can follow the example of Jesus Christ more fully in our lives. Show more Show less
