Hi I'm Brooke

I love Elvis, China, Mermaids & Costume Parties. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have three brothers, three sisters, four nephews and two nieces. I love reading, writing, acting & singing. I lived in Mainland China for nine months and the kids and people I met there changed my life. That experience was a big influence on me deciding to serve as a full-time missionary for the Church. I love people-watching and I'm a loyal friend. I believe that laughter is the best way to get through hard times-- that, and prayer.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've read The Book of Mormon, prayed to Heavenly Father to know if the book is true and was told by Him that it is true through the power of the Holy Ghost. I've lived the way that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches us to live, and I've found peace, happiness and joy in doing so. In the times that I've decided to live in ways contrary to what the gospel teaches, I've found sadness, loneliness and a low self-esteem. Through the good times and the bad times in my life, the gospel has helped me to feel purpose, support and love from my Heavenly Father. I'm a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ died for me and that he re-established his church on the earth through Joseph Smith. He has told me it is true and has asked me to follow Him, so I will.

How I live my faith

I believe that every person has good in them and that if you take the time to get to know them and serve them that they will share that good with you and teach you how to be a better person yourself. For that reason, I love getting to know people of my own faith and of different faiths. Friendship is one of the main ways in which I live my faith. I love sharing the happiness that I've been given with those around me. I love attending church every week and learning and feeling the spirit that is there. I enjoy reading my scriptures and praying to my Heavenly Father daily. Both of those practices teach me and comfort me through my ups and my downs. I've learned that the more I lean on the Lord, the more bearable my downs end up being.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Brooke
The missionaries will talk about the basic principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (or the Mormon Church). They will talk about Christ and his teaching and then tell how He and Heavenly Father communicate to us. They will talk about how special and loved each person on this earth is and how we as God's children can find peace, happiness, comfort and joy. They'll talk about the Bible and The Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith and Christ's sacrifice for us. They'll talk about modern scripture and communications between God and his children. They'll talk about family and how we can make meaningful and lasting relationships that start in this life and can continue on after we've left this life. They'll answer any questions and share any experiences with you that you have and allow. They will be there to talk to you, personally, and give you the information that you want to know.
