Hi I'm Erica

I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a teacher. I am a Kentuckyian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 4 children, 7 and under: 3 boys, 1 girl. I currently stay at home and have a part time job doing test preparation for high schoolers. My husband and I have been married for almost 9 years. I have a bachelors degree in secondary math and history. I love to preserve my families memories...blogging, on Facebook, the occasional scrapbook party. I am a crafter wannabe and my favorite hobby is spending time with my kids!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it just make sense!!! Everything about the church for me is very logical. Of course we have a Heavenly Father who loves us and knows us individually! Of course the priesthood is necessary. There is so much good that comes from my keeping the commandments. Does this mean that there is no bad? Absolutely NOT. I have had my fair share of trials. There have been some really low moments, but the only way I have pulled out of them and muddled through is by holding on to my testimony that our Savior lives, that He loves me and that He can take away my pain, not just my sins, but my pain, sorrow, and utter helplessness. Through every trial I have ever had, the temptation to walk away and say that living the gospel is just "too hard" has always been there, but i have found as I have pushed that down and clung tighter to the truth, I have been able to come out of those dark hours. Are there things that I don't know for sure? Yes absolutely, but that is why the first principal of the gospel is FAITH. When we come to that question in the scriptures or that one piece of doctrine that doesn't make complete sense, the Lord has blessed us with faith that at some time, we will be able to know the answer to that question.

How I live my faith

I practice my faith by rolling out of bed every morning!!! There are times when I open my eyes and don't know how I am going to make it through the day: shuttling kids here there and everywhere, work appointments, dinner, lunch, cleaning the house. but as I get out of bed, I know that my Heavenly Father will help me carry on. At church, I teach the youth, it is such a special blessing to be reminded of how easy it is to get sidetracked by the world and to be reminded of the blessings of staying the course.
