Hi I'm Hector

I am from Colombia. I love knowledge. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Chemical Engineering major. I love science and all of its branches. I love sports, especially basketball, soccer, and snowboarding. I play the tenor saxophone. I enjoy reading books on diverse topics (philosophy, science, religion, mystery, fiction, history, etc.). I like to dance Latin music (salsa, merengue, bachata). I enjoy the outdoors. I like to study.

Why I am a Mormon

Because the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has given me an eternal perspective on my existence. Because it is the only way that I can have an eternal family based on the doctrine of Christ. Because it brings joy to my life and helps me improve each day to become a better son of Heavenly Father. Because God has answered me that the Book of Mormon is true and Joseph Smith is His prophet. Because we have a living prophet called of God to guide us in these latter days.

How I live my faith

I served as a full-time missionary from 2010-2012. I began serving in the Colombia Bogota South Mission and then went to the North Carolina Raleigh Mission. I live my faith by doing my best to serve my brothers and sisters (everybody), and invite them to come unto Christ to receive His gospel and the joy it brings to all. I try to live my faith by reading the Word of God and thinking about how it applies to my life and those around me. Learning about my genealogy also teaches me about the importance of families and what Jesus Christ has done for all of us.
