Hi I'm P.J.

I'm on the Pursuit of Happiness! I'm diabetic. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Lindon, UT. Graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. Go Vikings. I love all sports. Especially baseball. Anyone that knows me knows I am a die hard Atlanta Braves fan. I have wonderful family and friends and I am who I am today because of the people I love. I was raised in the Mormon church, but through my own study and prayer, I have come to know that my Savior lives, that God loves me, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of Christ The same one that He set up during his ministry in the Bible. I am currently serving a two year mission for the church in North Carolina. I learn more about Christ everyday as I strive to become more like Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have asked My Heavenly Father in prayer if the Book of Mormon is true. Because He loves me he answered my prayers, and I know that this is The Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving. Right now I am on a full-time mission in Raleigh, North Carolina. I Love it! Helping people come to know more about Jesus Christ brings me so much happiness. As I strive to help others around me, I feel myself come closer to my Savior. Before my mission, I taught Sunday-School to 11 year old boys. I learned so much as I was studying ways to teach the scriptures to these young boys.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

P.J.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting ilife." God loved the whole world, not just the people who were in Jerusalem. To me it makes sense that Jesus Christ would visit people who were around the world. The Book of Mormon contains a record of His teaching to the people who were on the American continents. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

P.J.
I love reading my scriptures. The more I study the more I have come to appreciate the messages they teach me in my life. This reminds me of an article I was once shown in Sunday school that I thought was really neat.  THE CELLPHONE VS THE SCRIPTURES I wonder what would happen if we treated our scriptures like we treat our cell phones? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we flipped through it several times a day? What if we spent an hour or more using it every day? What if we used it to receive messages? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to other kids as gifts? What if we used it as we traveled? What if we used it in case of an emergency? This is something to make you go...."Hmmm..Dude.. where is my scriptures?" Unlike our cell phones: One Plan does fit all. Unlimited usage. No roaming charges. You always have reception. You can use it in the mountains and in a tunnel. It's free with no hidden costs, AND you don't ever have to worry your scriptures being disconnected because CHRIST has already paid the bill! As we treat the scriptures as something sacred or important, we will learn more from them. It has been said, "If we want to talk to God- Pray. If we want Him to talk to us- Read His word."
