Hi I'm johno

and i'm a Mormon

About Me

me in a nutshell.. soccer, basketball, biking, tennis, ping pong, bowl and play with the new xbox kinect is what i like to do!

Why I am a Mormon

Because living the teachings makes me feel good! It's not just a set of rules but it's a lifestyle that is liberating and fills me with more confidence and self-esteem as I live it than any other way of living I've experienced. I am a Mormon/Latter-day Saint because the teachings help me understand the world and how I can be a positive part it. Being a mormon allows me to progress in all aspects of my life because the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is found within. As I try to progress and build my inner-self, the rest of me follows suit. The teachings give me a purpose to live for. I'm a Mormon because the teachings are simple and logical yet deep with meaning; the teachings inspire me to do good and come closer to God.

How I live my faith

Day to day. Life is full of choices and everyday I can choose to do good, work hard and look at life positively or not. Everyday sunday, I wake up and go to Church. Sometimes I'm asked a few weeks in advance to prepare a lesson to teach to a specific class and I agree because I feel comfortable doing that. The Bishop of the congregation has asked me to assist with activities on wednesday nights and I show up every wednesday. These 14-18 year old guys are awesome and help me remember what's important in life. Twice a month I try and visit with a couple families of the congregation to see how they're doing and enjoy some time with them. My parents always told me to choose good friends and have good people around me. I understand a little more everyday why they wanted that for me. What we see and hear really influence who we are. Actively participating in church and with people with similar standards as me helps me become a better person because we have similar goals to progress and to be better today than we were yesterday.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Did Jesus only help his disciples? Jesus helped those who were willing to be helped. As do Mormons. From what I see, we try to teach a man to fish rather than give him a fish. Although we do give away the fish too.. metaphorically speaking. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

It is by grace we are saved after all we can do. I think that God expects our best. Not just our best intentions, but our best actions as well. What can we give the Almighty? Nothing but our choices which he will never take away from us. Let us use those choices for good! Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Jesus Christ. There is no other name whereby man may be saved. When I say saved, I refer to salvation from physical death and spiritual death(sin). Because Christ suffered and overcame the sins, pains and afflictions of every kind in the Garden of Gethsemane and died on the cross and rose again (ressurected) we too will rise again and can become free from sin, pains and afflictions of every kind.
