Hi I'm Esther

I was born & raised in Leeds England, I am married & a mother of 3 girls. I work as a registered nurse & yes - I'm a Mormon!

About Me

So, I have 3 children - 3 girls! They keep me very busy! I work part time as a nurse in a small dialysis unit, & love my job! Working part time enables me to put in time & effort at home with my family, without feeling I am away from home too much & either missing out or letting them down. It's a nice balance.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been born & rasied in the church, you may think this is the reason I am a Mormon, whilst for sure this plays a part in where I am today, the reason that keeps me being a Mormon is because I whole heartedly believe this to be the only true church of God on the earth. After much study & prayer I cannot deny that the scriptures true, I know they are! In a world where religion is not particularly 'popular' & many people are unaware of what the scriptures contain, I wish people could know what I know & feel what I feel. My knowledge & testimony of the scriptures has changed my life. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I love the values it teaches, of honesty & purity, goodness, love & many many more! I feel blessed as a family as we raise our children with these good principles, our home is a happy one! The church teaches that families are eternal, & that we have a Heavenly Father who has an eternal plan for all of us. The teachings of the church explain the meaning & purpose of life perfectly, & leave me with no unanswered questions or doubts about who I am or why I am here. I know that this church is true, that Jesus Christ is at the head of His church, that we are lead on earth by a Prophet, called of God, as in days of old. I Know that God loves us and his plan for us is for our eternal happiness , so that he can bless us with all that he has. These are just afew examples of why I'm a Mormon, I could go on to explain more, but the simplicity of it is I know the scriptures are true, I know that Jesus Christ lives, I know that he appeared to Joseph Smith in that sacred grove to restore his church to the earth in these the last days, & I know the church is true!

How I live my faith

My current responsibilty in the church is a teacher. I teach a class of approximately 40 adults each week, which requires a lot of very hard work & preparation. Whilst I find this part of it hard, it is by far the most rewarding & beneficial thing I have ever done. I have learnt so much, yet still have so much to learn - that part of it I love! Over the years of my membership in this church, I have had a varied range of roles & responsibilites, from teaching & caring for children to organising social events for the whole ward. In my day to day life I live my faith through my actions, I may not discuss my religion with the people that I interact with on a day to day basis, but they know who I am & the standards I keep. At home I have personal & family prayer. I read my scriptures, I listen to uplifting music, and avoid unwholesome media such as many Tv programmes & current music (that is not to say that we avoid ALL TV & music, that is not the case, we just choose to switch off those things that are inappropriate). I teach my children the gospel in the home, in word & by example. Our home is a safe haven from the world where they can come & feel safe & feel the spirit, a truly lovely place to be.
