Hi I'm Ebele

I grew up in Nigeria but now live in London with my family and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I am the only girl in the family that I grew up in with two younger brothers and we were all brought up in the catholic faith by our mother. My mum made sure that I had a good education and I am very grateful for her wonderful examples. I got baptized at the age of 23 with the permission of my mum; since then it has been a great experience being a Mormon. I am married to a returned missionary with two beautiful children and the best is that we are all sealed in the Temple. I love reading, travelling, reaching out to people and spending time with my family. I was the only Mormon in my family when I joined the church but later my two brothers, aunties and cousins joined the church. I am glad the gospel is growing in my family. I work in London where I implement strategies for community development, encourage parental participation and help to fight child poverty.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a personal testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My testimony has grown over the years and I know that I am in the right place and it is my desire together with my husband to bring up our children in the right path by nurturing and teaching them the correct principles. It is a priviledge for me to partake in the blessings of the Atonement - it is a source of hope and strength and the reason why I press forward each day. I know that as I follow the teachings of our Saviour Jesus Christ that I will have peace and joy not just in this life but in the life to come.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is a way of life for me and my family. At church I teach Sunday school and it is a priviledge because it gives me the opportunity to get closer to our Heavenly Father. The more I study and prepare my lessons I get to have a profound love for my Saviour Jesus Christ - it is a great feeling. I like reaching out to people hence I get involved in volunteering in my community. I am a school governor in one of our local schools and also a trustee in our local community centre where my aim is to serve the local community and to foster peace. I do this in exciting and innovative ways like running youth groups, advice sessions, dance, and music classes. These activities are geared towards the community especially sending clear messages to families to help their children focus on worthwhile ventures as opposed to wandering the streets and committing crime.
