Hi I'm aubree!

I'm a college student. I work with children. I'm obsessed with zebra print. And you guessed it, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in Northern California! I absolutely love it here! I am the youngest of 5 children and grew up in a very religious home. At an early age I learned that I am a child of God and He loves me. That knowledge has helped me so much throughout my life. A couple years ago I had the desire to share that knowledge with others. I recently returned from my mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was an amazing experience as I saw other people change their lives and find true happiness as they learned the plan that God has for each of us. I am extremely blessed in so many ways and I am absolutely loving my life!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in a home with a very religious family, each of us had to go through our own experiences to find the truth. Everyone always told me to read The Book of Mormon, but I detested reading, especially something that was written in, what I thought was, a difficult language style. So I continued my life aimlessly not knowing what I was supposed to do. In high school I had lots of friends and stayed busy with extra curricular activities, but I still felt like something was missing. One evening I was laying on my couch watching the BYU channel on TV. As I listened to Gordon B. Hinckley, the current prophet at that time, I felt a sense of comfort. I then had the thought, "He is a prophet of God." That experience gave me the desire to read The Book of Mormon and to find out for myself if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints really was Christ's church on the earth today. I began to read a little bit every day and immediately noticed a difference in my life. I felt happier and I felt like I had a purpose. As I continued to read and pray to know if it was truly a record of God's prophets I felt peace and happiness that can't be found in our worldly possessions. I continue to read from the scriptures every day to feel that peace and comfort. I will be the first to say that my life is no where near perfect, but as I read the scriptures and put God first in my life it gets a little easier. I have more patience and more motivation to do what is right. I am Mormon because I find my true happiness in reading the scriptures, and it helps me recognize the love that God has for each of us!

How I live my faith

I live my faith be being an example and sharing it with others! Whether I'm in class, on facebook, or getting my nails done, I always try to share my beliefs with others. This may sound a little over the top, but actually many people come to me to ask what I believe. If you have a friend who was getting into shape and looking amazing, wouldn't you want to ask how they're doing it? It's the same thing spiritually! People can see a difference in me and they notice how much happier I am. They want to know what I do at church, or why I left my home for 18 months to talk about God. I love sharing what I believe with others and helping them to understand the truth about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I also get the wonderful opportunity to help teach the children in my local congregation. Every Sunday I get to teach singing time to children ages 18 months-11 yrs old. I love teaching them the words to the songs and helping them to understand what they are singing about. There is an incredible feeling when you receive the confirmation that the words you are singing are true. "I am a Child of God" is more than lyrics to a song, it is true doctrine that even a child can understand.
