Hi I'm Stuart

I'm a husband, a dad, a future eye doctor, I like sports, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in sunny California with wonderful parents and four younger sisters. I played high school soccer, but also enjoyed basketball, ping-pong, and running. I lived in beautiful British Columbia, Canada for two years teaching people about Jesus Christ and about his love for us. I am married to a wonderful woman, and we have two beautiful daughters. I graduated from college with a degree in Education. I taught seventh grade biology before I began optometry school. As part of my program, I am currently doing research on how diabetes affects the eye.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I was raised in the Mormon faith and taught the stories of the Old and New Testament. In addition to the Bible, my parents also taught me the stories from the Book of Mormon. From both the the Book of Mormon and the Bible, I learned that Jesus Christ lived, died for all mankind, and was resurrected. Living the teachings of Jesus Christ brings me joy and happiness. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior because I have studied the scriptures and prayed to know if what they teach is true. There is a God in Heaven who loves his children and knows us individually. The Book of Mormon has given me more understanding about my relationship to God and to Jesus Christ. It has given direction to my life and has answered my questions regarding how to live a happy life, what happens after death, and how to be a better parent. I know there is a God. I know His Son, Jesus Christ, is the Savior of all mankind. The Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God. Jesus Christ has called prophets and apostles on the earth today just as he did during his ministry were at the time of Jesus Christ. I know these things because I have asked God to know if they are true, and I have received a witness that they are.

How I live my faith

I show my love to God by obeying His commandments and by serving other people. I try to live my faith daily by trying to live by principles that Jesus Christ taught. I try to treat others the way I want to be treated. I also live my faith by giving time each week to fulfill my church assignments. At church, I am responsible to make sure the Sunday school classes are organized and teachers are prepared to teach each week. I also periodically teach an early morning bible study class designed for high school students. By serving others, my faith in Jesus Christ has grown.
