Hi I'm Jamie

and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a PA student who is passionate about learning and helping others. I love family, music, swimming, skiing, solving problems, and teaching relief society. I spent a summer working in an orphanage in Thailand and plan on more medical missions in the future. I married my best friend in the temple and we have a beautiful son.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a LDS home and was taught principles of love, repentance, service, faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity and virtue. I was living a good life, free from addiction, envy and self inflicted pain. Even when I questioned my faith, I still remained true to my values because I knew living them brought happiness, stability and reason to my life. Today I live my faith because I know righteous living brings blessings of peace and understanding. I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because when my life is in sync with the teachings I am truly happy. I love my Father in Heaven and He has designed a plan for us to follow. Participation in His church gives us access to ordinances and covenants He wants us to enjoy. Everything we do is centered on our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. I try to follow His example and trust in His grace. In the end I will never regret living by good standards and striving to be better.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my family, praying and reading scriptures daily, and teaching the women in my ward. Between being a wife, mother, full-time student, I attend my church meetings, pay one tenth of my income as tithing, attend the temple, dress modestly, work honestly, and try to care for others as myself. I hope to increase in faith throughout my entire life by learning and converting continuously. I look forward to be able to give more of my time and resources to the service of others.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a code of conduct church members are asked to live. It includes no alcohol, coffee, tea or smoking, we are encouraged to get enough sleep and eat healthy proportions. Blessings come from living the Word of Wisdom. Show more Show less

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is the largest sisterhood in the world! We come together during our church meetings to learn about the gospel and catch up on happenings from the previous week. We often have activities that broaden our skills and refine our talents. The relief society is well known for their beautiful table centers, yummy potatoes, and well prepared lessons. It is a great support system for women young and old. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

First have faith in God, have faith in your relationship with him. You are His son/daughter, and He is your literal Father in Heaven. Have faith in Jesus the Christ, have faith in the work He performed for all and trust in His example of living. Have faith in the Holy Ghost, have faith that through Him you may know the truth of all things. Show more Show less
