Hi I'm Heather

I am currently serving as missionary and I love it!!

About Me

I graduated with my bachelors in Nursing in 2011. I had some wonderful experience in college which have shaped me to be who I am today. My Testimony has grown so much because of these experience. I spent the fall of 2010 in Israel doing a study abroad! It was an incredible experience walking where the Savior walked and where most of the stories in the scriptures took place. This experience lead to a prompting to serve a mission. This was not in my planner, but I knew because of the propmting that I received that it was something that I need to do. I had a lot of fear, having just finished my school and leaving for a year and half with no experience. I know that when I come back that it would be difficult to find a job and to remember everything that I learned; but I know that if I put the Lord and His work first that, He will provide and help me later. I love being outdoors and playing sports, softball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, pretty much anything. I love horseback riding! My family is a huge part of my life, I have three sisters and four brothers with 15 nieces and nephews. We have so much fun together! I'm so grateful for my parents and siblings, who constantly support and help me with whatever I need. I know that families are eternal and I am so great that my family can be eternal. We were able to get sealed as an eternal family in August 2010. I love them and my Heavenly Father's family and that is why I am on a mission to bring His Gospel to His other children.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have grown up in the church, I have not always had a testimony. A testimony is personal and you have to develop it on your own. My testimony has come from personal experiences and learning from other's examples and testimonies. I know that my Savior lives and that He suffered for me in the Garden and on the cross, so that I can become clean and return to my Father in Heaven. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel to the earth in this last dispensation and it the true church. There are many things that I do not understand, but through faith I know that one day I will. The feelings that I have recieved and the peace in my life, increases my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Gospel is not just a sunday thing, it is truly a part of who I am and what I do. I am not perfect, in fact I am far from perfect, I make mistakes like everyone else, but because of the Atonement I can become clean and have that peace restored into my life. There is no greater blessing in our lives than the Gift of the Atonement. The power of the Atonement is so personal, He knows us, He knows how we feel, and He wanted to heal us and comfort us. I love my Savior and my Father in Heaven. I am so grateful for their tender mercies and love they show me every single day.

How I live my faith

I am showing faith by serving as a missionary. It has been a very difficult and incredible experience so far. I have never had to completely rely on my Father in heaven before. As a missionary everything we do is focused on the Him and His Son Jesus Christ. Faith is not always easy. I have had many moments of Doubt, but if it were for these experiences and trials, I wouldn't have been brought closer to my Father in heaven. When we have these experiences our hearts ache and were are brought down, we are humbled; when we go through these experiences, we never enjoy them in the moment or for a long time afterward, but when we put our trust in the Lord, we can understand and see the benefit we recieved from thoses experiences. If I didn't sin and I had never experienced Godly sorrow, I wouldn't need a Savior and His Atonement to suffer for me and for you, to take away to pain of sin and guilt. If no one ever hurt me, I wouldn't need a Savior and His Atonement to heal my open wounds. God knew that we would make mistakes and that we would be hurt by others, that is why His Son, Jesus Christ suffered and died for me and for you. If we come unto Him with Faith, He can and He WILL, take away our suffering whether is be our own mistake or others. I know the Atonement can cleanse you from sin and it can heal wounds from others, because I exercised FAITH and called upon HIM. He HEALED me. There is no great PEACE or JOY that you can experience in life, then feeling the Savior's Atonement in your life. I wish everyone could experience that Cleansing and Healing power available to all if they would but just follow Him and His perfect example and come unto HIM! I know through Faith all things are possible!
