Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in Idaho, now live in California. I enjoy basketball, painting, and especially my family! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been happily married for twenty-eight years and have three awesome children, my family brings me great joy! I enjoy nature and the outdoors with activities on the beach and hiking in the mountains as the most exhilarating for me. Sports that I like to participate in are basketball, baseball, and soccer. I have coached youth teams in these sports and believe that being a part of a team strengthens us as individuals. Painting and drawing are two things that I don't get to do much but that I love and help me relax. I enjoy observing and helping other people, service to others has always been something that has brought balance to my life. I lived in Great Britain for two years and hope to return some day. I like traveling to new places, some of the greatest memories I have with my family has been when traveling together. I have worked in multiple industries but found the most challenging and fulfilling for me was when I was involved in the development of computer software that was utilized to design automobiles.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God; that our Heavenly Father (God) and Jesus Christ both love all people. I believe that we lived with our Heavenly Father before being born onto this earth and that when we die we have the opportunity to return to live with our Heavenly Father again. I believe that God has created a plan of redemption or salvation for His children and that through grace, faith, repentance, and good works we can understand His plan and receive all the blessings that God has to give. I believe that there is a living prophet of God on the earth today just as a Moses of Biblical times. I gain great spiritual strength from reading the scriptures and words of living prophets. I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ, it brings me personal peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by following the teaching of Jesus Christ. I find serving other to be at the core of my faith. Areas that I have participated in to render service are community youth sports, Boy Scouts of America, and my church congregation. I have been involved in several youth camps and outdoor experiences that have been designed to strengthen and build youth. This has been very fulfilling as we have worked to help youth recognize their strengths, goals, and abilities to overcome challenges. I currently assist in providing leadership to organizations and individuals for a church congregation of approximately 425 members.
