Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a wife and mother of three rambunctoiuos, beautiful children. I love people, the piano and singing in the car. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up with 8 siblings provided many great but also trying times. My mother incorporated music into our lives at a very young age. We would sing in the car, while doing chores, Christmas Caroling, at the nursing home....everywhere. Because you can't argue/fight while singing, it really bonded us together. I now am married with three young, energetic children of my own. I've tried to keep uplifting music as a daily part of our lives. I'm not very good at crafts, sewing, interior design or basically anything involving creativity, but I can try to be the best mom and the most loving spouse that I can be!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon, but truly believe that everyone must find their own testimony regardless of their upbringing. In my early twenties, my "picture perfect" childhood was shattered when I learned about different abuses that had taken place in my immediete and extended family. At this same time, one of my favorite cousins was sent to prison for similar problems. I began to question marriage, family and even love in general. I always knew there was a God, but did he truly love me personally? One particularly hard night, I decided to go for a walk and ended up by the Nauvoo Illinois Temple. I remember simply asking, "Heavenly Father, are you there and do you love me? As I did so, I was filled with an overwhelming peace and love that I will never forget. I have had many experiences since that night re-affirming that, Yes, God loves me. He knows me personally and if I ever start to doubt that, I can always go to him in prayer and be reminded. This Gospel truly has answers to every question I could ever have. It gives me peace to any problem I struggle with. It gives me a reason to live no matter what is happening in the world around me!

How I live my faith

My Faith in Jesus Christ sustains me every single day. If I miss one morning of praying and reading my scriptures, I usually have a miserable day. As I take the time to put my Savior first, my trials don't magically disappear, but I am strengthened to handle them with more insight, patience and understanding. As I have studied and researched abuse, it's effects and how to break it's vicious cycle, my heart has softened towards others. Sometimes it's easy to pass judgement on other's actions, but I am learning that one can never know what someone is struggling with on the inside. At church, I have the opportunity to serve with teenage boys. As I look into their, sometimes troubled eyes, I am filled with a love for them. I'm begininning to understand that we all have struggles, temptations or issues we are dealing with. Every person on this earth is a precious child of our Heavenly Father and if we look for His spark of goodness in each one, we will see it. Sometimes it just needs to be nurtured a little.
