Hi I'm Trent

I'm a teacher, a runner, a musician, a brother, a son, a husband, a father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a happily married father of three teenagers (plus one cat) and I love to run, read, travel, eat pizza, and spend time with my family. I am an educator, an athlete, and a musician who moved from the beauty of the green Pacific Northwest to the dry desert heat of Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home and community that cared about its youth and its future. As a young person I was able to participate in a number of wonderful experiences with super people that taught me through their example. These people helped me see the happiness and joy of living the gospel of Jesus Christ. There came a time, though, when I had to discover for myself, independent of my family and upbringing, what I really stood for and believed in. As I pondered, I knew that I had enjoyed numerous blessings by following the teachings of Jesus Christ. I had felt the power of His spirit in my life and knew that God had answered my prayers on many occasions. All of these experiences helped galvanize my faith in the teachings of the Jesus Christ and His Church. I continue to study, to pray, and to seek for answers, and with Christ at the foundation of my faith, I know that with Him, all things are indeed possible.

How I live my faith

Being a good neighbor, family member, and community contributor is important to me. Family is very important to me and I believe it is an important part of God’s plan for his children so I am always trying to become a better son, husband, and father. I enjoy working with and serving people in a variety of ways and wherever it is needed. Whether it is helping a child to sing, coaching a young person to reach their goals, teaching the gospel, or visiting individuals who just need to talk, all are ways that I enjoy giving back to other people, my community, and my God. Christ was the example. His life is my model. Life is not always easy and I make my mistakes along the way, as do we all, but I take it one day at a time and try to rely on Him so that I can return His love to those around me.
