Hi I'm Thiago

Life took me to places that I never imagined! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Brazil. I came to the U.S.A a few years ago with my wife to study. I graduated with a major in Geography and I am an analyst in a financial firm. I got married in 07/07/07 and I have two beautiful kids; an energetic baby boy born in Sept 2008 and a cute girl born in Apr 2010. I really enjoy going out to watch movies with my wife. Travel, even if is just to pass a weekend in a hotel near by. In addition, we always look for new restaurants to try new foods and flavors.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the church helps to bring the best of me in every aspect of my life. I feel that the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me a better husband, father, friend, employee and citizen. In addition, it reminds me of life's true priorities; my family, which in the end, is the true source of happiness. I don't have a perfect life or family, but the words of living prophets and apostles always brings comfort and is a great source of good counsel for many difficult decisions. I remember being newly wed in Brazil, working for a great company, enjoying a great lifestyle and have to make the difficult choice to stay in Brazil or leave everything behind to come to study in the U.S.A. I can't recall in this process how many times I listened and read talks given by modern prophets and apostles at General Conference. Or how many times I went to the Temple, with my wife, week after week to pray and to seek inspiration. And how many times I read several chapters in the Book Of Mormon and in the Bible to get in tune with the Holy Ghost to receive revelation. Indeed, with all these resources in my life I was able to make the right choice. However, when I came to the U.S.A other challenges appear such as; finances, school, kids and a lot of uncertainty about the future. And, once again all these resources helped me and helps me through life's challenges. I can't imagine, with all life's difficulties, how hard would be to pass by all of this, without the peace, guidance and hope that only the gospel and the church brings to me.

How I live my faith

I don't believe is difficult to live my faith; everything that is good for my mind, my body and my soul is part of my lifestyle. In any place I go, it can be another city, state or country; I always have that warm family feeling when I walk into a LDS Church. I enjoy the monthly visits of my home teachers that truly care about me and my family. In my local LDS Ward, I teach 10-12 years old boys, which is a lot fun. Indeed, throughout my membership in the church I had the chance to voluntarily serve in many positions. And, by serving in the church I had opportunities to growth and expand my life's horizons to areas that I never imagined. By living my faith, I feel that I am developing my true potential.
