Hi I'm Gracie

I'm a student in college and I love to play outside! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student in college. I play the cello (not as much as I would like anymore) and I study a lot. Most of my days are spent at the library working hard. I love to play basketball and really any sport.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are LDS and so I've grown up in the Church. I have always had the choice to go to church or not. I've always been happy living the gospel standards. I don't have a really amazing conversion story but it was just one day at a time. By reading my scriptures and praying I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that this is the true church. As I've gone to church, firesides or other meetings I have also been given a witness of the truthfulness of this Gospel. A testimony is something that you can't just get suddenly, its a process that takes time and effort. I have seen especially lately that I have to always keep working on my testimony or else it can weaken. As I focus on the Lord and put him first he has blessed me with comfort and help. I'm so grateful for this testimony that helps me everyday of my life.

How I live my faith

I am in a singles ward and have a calling. I am the Family History Indexing coordinator. You probably haven't heard of this, neither had I when I got it. Here's a brief explanation of what I do. This calling can be done all at home on my computer. I downloaded a program from the Church called, "Family Search Indexing." This program has digital copies of thousands and thousands of records (census, draft records etc) from many years ago. My job is to digitally write out the information (names, marital status, age, sex, etc). This information is double checked and then put on the main Family History programs so that people around the world can find their ancestors. It really is a neat work. I don't get very involved in my ward but my bishop wants me to get the other young single adults excited and doing it as well.
