Hi I'm Ol

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the Philippines. I am a teacher of the gospel.

About Me

I'm a college graduate and currently practicing my profession as an educator. I love to teach! I'm married to my beautiful wife and we have four wonderful children. I enjoy running early in the morning and feel close to nature. At home I am fond of cooking and doing household chores. I love to read good books. In the last few years I had the opportunity to travel abroad to serve mission, attend seminars and trainings, and provide other volunteer work. Travelling is one of the things that I also love doing.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ is everything to me. It brings true joy and happiness in my life. For me It is a constant source of peace and hope. Since joining the Church several years ago, I have received a knowledge and a testimony of the truth. One of the good books I love reading everyday is The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It's teachings continue to help strengthen my faith of the Lord Jesus Christ. As I read, ponder, and pray about this book, I feel closer to my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. It helps me avoid temptations and live God's commandments. I feel that their love for me is matchless and enduring. That love is manifested through God's only begotten Son, even Jesus Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of the World. Their plan of happiness is designed for all of God's children so that they will experience true and lasting joy in mortality and live as families for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

In the Church we are taught to follow the example of the Savior Jesus Christ to help lift others. Serving others not only provides inner satisfaction but an opportunity to continue to feel God's love for me and His children. Every Sunday I have the opportunity to assist members of out faith in preparing them to become effective gospel teachers. These teachers are given the opportunity to participate in gospel discussion, share their experiences, their stories, and their testimonies of this work. The materials for this training are taken from the scriptures and the words of the living prophets and apostles. All participants in the teaching the gospel course are given the chance to do actual teaching which allows them to apply the teaching skills and the attributes they are striving to learn and apply in their own lives. The purpose of it all is for the participants to become part of helping others to come unto Christ. They not only learn the what and how of teaching but how to inspire diligent learning in the lives of those they teach.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Ol
The Mormon missionaries go out two by two to "Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end." They are fulfilling God's command to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" (Matthew 28:19). They provide answers to the questions of the soul. Show more Show less
