Hi I'm David

I'm a Veteran, Husband, Convert, and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a twenty four and a half year military veteran serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. I had the great opportunity to travel throughout the world and meet people of various cultures. I've seen poverty at its lowest and was able to help these poor people. I served on three ships over a ten year period and rescued too many people to count. After my military career and owning a failed business for three years, I went to culinary school because I have a passion for food. I decided to pursue a path in baking and pastry. I love preparing delicious desserts and seeing the faces of people who appreciate the hard work that goes into the preparation. I love reading the scriptures, researching family history, and watching classic movies with my loving wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a recent convert. I've been a Mormon for a year and a half now. Two missionaries came to my house and talked to my wife about the church. She attended a sacrament meeting and told me about her experience. During this time I was laid off from work. Now that I had some free time I attended church with my wife and we had the missionaries teaching us in our home. I saw this as God's plan for us. I believe in the scriptures and saw that this is the true church on earth. Soon my wife and I were baptized. Thirteen months later we went to the temple and were sealed to each other. The church's organization and missions simply amaze me. Only devine authority could have established such a church and given us the doctrine we have.

How I live my faith

My wife and I coordinate the dinner schedule for our ward's full time missionaries. It is a pleasure to fullfill this calling. I also try to be an example to others whom I work with. I study the scriptures and always think of questions of why. I then pray for the answers and in God's own time I'm usually given the direction needed or hints for me to research the answers. It has been a real eye openning experience.
