Hi I'm Austin

I'm a bike nut, a husband, a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in the Pacific Northwest on a small farm. My parents taught me the value of hard work and being a true friend. My wife and I met while in college and we love being outside skiing, biking, hiking, or boating. I am a recent graduate, and father to a red headed boy that makes me smile. I teach agriculture and am passionate about farming, sustainability, and production. I enjoy gardening, biking, the outdoors, old tractors, woodworking, playing the harmonica, and tinkering. Did I mention I like bicycles?

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because it gives me balance in my life. Life is overwhelming, be it school, work, or affairs happening on local and global levels. Knowing that there is a Father in Heaven that loves all of us and that my family can be together forever gives me peace when the rest of the world seems stacked against me.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher each Sunday for the youth, I am a scout leader, I attend church weekly with my family, I volunteer in the community, and teach community classes. I enjoy giving my time to help others out.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes we are. I love being a Christian. Knowing that we all had a savior that came to this earth to die for our sins is pretty awesome. When asked this question I think of a scripture in the Book of Mormon that sums our faith up. It is in the book of 2 Nephi Chapter 25 verse 26; "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins."
