Hi I'm Solana

I'm a daughter and a sister. I dream big. I'm flawed but full of hope. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey there! Since you've taken the time to visit my profile I suppose I'll tell you a bit about my self. My name is Solana, but everyone calls me Sunnie. I have the best family in the world, including a little neurotic dog named Sparky, the real baby of the family. When I meet people, I like to assume they are wonderful and more often than not they prove me right. I believe everyone has a story worth telling if we take the time to listen. Someday you'll be able to buy my books in a bookstore near you but I have to finish writing one first! Fast cars and loud music are never a bad idea, and nothing beats a good day at the beach. I know an absurd amount about sharks, mostly because they used to terrify me so I had to learn everything I could about them. I have been told I can't fix everything with my ridiculous optimism but I am stubborn enough to try!

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born to parents who are also Mormon. Due to my Dad's job I moved around a lot growing up, about every two years. The only things that ever stayed the same were my family and my faith, and in my mind the two are inseparable. The Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses families. While I saw other families struggle and fall apart because of the hardships associated with moving so much, my family continued to grow stronger. I know it is because Christ was central in our lives. When we focus on Christ and His gospel, we can have the blessings of peace, hope and happiness despite any trials that come our way. In this crazy world (and let's be honest, it is pretty crazy) Christ will never ever fail us. He is always there, always willing to help and through His Atonement I know I will be able to live with my family for the eternities!

How I live my faith

Right now I am sitting in a little internet cafe in Romania. What am I doing here? Well, I am currently a missionary for my Church, and I was called to serve for a year and a half in the Romania/Moldova mission. As missionaries, we get up at 6:30 every morning. If you know me at all, you know I am NOT a morning person. The fact that I manage to get up at that time every morning is a miracle within itself. We spend every day trying to share Christ's gospel with everyone we meet. I know, it seems strange to just walk up to someone on the street and try to talk to them about religion and a lot of times people don't want to listen. Still, I know that this Gospel can change lives. It's changed my life and for that reason I knew I had to serve a mission, to try and help others have the joy I have every day. I know this Gospel can change YOUR life! Yes, YOU, reading this right now!
