Hi I'm Cameron

I sing opera, write fiction, dance ballet, I love my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying vocal music. I work as a Student Ambassador at my university in the Admissions department. All music is my joy, as is theatre, dancing, photography, doing artwork, watching movies, swimming, riding horses, spending time with those I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the faith, but like all people, I found out for myself the truthfulness of the gospel. I prayed when I was 14 after a depressing night at a local youth dance, wondering why I had no friends in the new area I just moved to, and wondering if God even cared about me. My answer came very strongly among many tears and tissues. I felt the Spirit of the Lord comfort me in my trial, and I knew that God loved me. Six years later, I read the Book of Mormon all the way through for the first time. I know without a doubt that it indeed is the most correct of any book on the earth, and that you can draw closer to the Savior and learn to love Him more perfectly by living by its teachings. God has strengthened me and comforted me through the many trials I've had to face, and I know and can say with conviction that I would not have been able to get through them without the help of my Savior. I believe that God loves every one of us and that it's out duty in return to love and support those around us. The gospel of Jesus Christ, and the teachings and the principles therein, give me the hope, knowledge, and strength to do just that, and that's why I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I currently attend a Young Single Adult ward at the university, and I am a Home Evening Group Leader, in charge of organizing weekly activities of service and entertainment for my group of other students in my ward. My partner and I plan activities that can strengthen the friendship, love, and spiritual growth of our little family froup. This responsibility has caused my love and understanding for other people to really grow.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Absolutely not. We believe very strongly in having Charity, which is the pure love of Christ, toward ALL people. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is very active in humanitarian aid around the world as well as locally. We are a people of service and love to do all that we can for each other and anyone else in need. Whether that be a rescue effort for earthquake victims in the Pacific, or a neighbor down the street sick with the flu, we'll be there. Show more Show less
