Hi I'm Lisa Jane Young

I am originally from England. I am a mother of four, married 14 years and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I have always enjoyed cooking and was able to go to culinary school. My husband feels very blessed to have a personal chef in the house. I love painting but do not find a lot of time with being a mother to four children, who I adore. Louis is 10, Matthew 8, Nathan 3 and we finally got our girl, Alice who is 4 months. Her brothers all dote on her! I love studying the scriptures and enjoy sharing the knowledge I get to gain by doing so. One of the best things that has happened in my life was joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My Mum was in the country when I got baptized and was able to learn a little from the Missionaries. Six months later she was baptized in Manchester, England and I was able to fly home and speak at her baptism which was a wonderful experience!

Why I am a Mormon

I gave the Missionaries a run for their money. They did not know what hit them when they taught me. I say this because I had so many questions regarding the gospel. Each time they came over to the house to teach me and my husband I had a new page of questions to ask. We were taught for quite a long time. It took two years of studying and three sets of missionaries before I was finally baptized but in so doing I KNOW I am a much more dedicated to the gospel and it is something that is truly part of my everyday life and existence. I LOVE being a Mormon. Life is so much more fulfilling knowing what God wants of his children. The commandments are still part of his plan and I am happy living them. There is peace in knowing that you are doing the right thing in the eyes of our Father in Heaven. There is much confusion in this life and it can be difficult but anything is possible when we lean of the gospel of Jesus Christ for strength.

How I live my faith

I have a wonderful calling at the moment working with the women of the church in a teaching capacity. Being a teacher I have to study and learn more to be able to share and am richly blessed in doing so. I am able to teach my children the things that I am being taught. I do my best to be a good example to those around me and love how enriching it feels to share the gospel with others.
