Hi I'm Doug

I'm a Mormon. My name is Douglas J. Gardner. I live in Henderson, Nevada, U.S.A.

About Me

I am an ordinary person with the same tests and trials as anyone else. I have five children and a beautiful, wonderful wife. I have been married for 23 years. I have a business with several terrific people to work with every day. I have practiced law in Las vegas for almost 22 years. I like sports and I like to read. My kids keep me busy and I just try to keep up with them. My oldest son, Mitchell, was a full time missionary in Orlando, Florida. My next son, Spencer, is in the Guam mission currently. He lives on a small Island called Pohnpai! My other children, Nicholas, Leigh and Max are also excited to serve missions when they are old enough!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church because of the promises of an eternal family. The promises made to me in the Temples of the Lord are so significant to me that I can not imagine living without them. My goal in this life is to qualify to be worthy of eternal life with my family and friends. The greatest objective I have in this life is to qualify to live with my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I look forward to attending Church every sunday. I come out of Church feeling better because of the exposure to the spirit I feel during Church. I have a great experience in class and the instructors have great resources to help them teach an inspiring message. Also, in class, the instructors encourage group discussion on the topics in the lessons. My kids are taught the same lesson I am taught in a formate that they can understand and appreciate. We have many activities and opportunities of service to others and it is always comforting that I know that in the difficult world we live in that I have some help to teach my family the doctrines of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is my Father. He has a perfect body of Flesh and Bones. Jesus Christ also is perfect and he has a glorified and resurrected body of Flesh and Bones. I believe that God, the Father, has the same interest in each of his Children as I have in my Children here on earth. I want the best things for my children and in any circumstance I will do anything for them to protect them and to keep them safe. I want to support them and to teach them everything that I can to keep them from harm and to keep them safe and successful. This is the way our Father in Heaven is toward each of his Children on Earth. This is true regardless of our background or our color. He is concerned when we are sad and he is happy when we are Obedient and faithful. I believe that our Father is as interested in us as we are in the Children that we are blessed to raise on Earth. He wants to hear from us when we pray to him. He will answer our prayers as he sees fit to bless us and to teach us what is necessary to retun to Him. I love my Father in Heaven! Show more Show less
