Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in Mississippi. I now live in Missouri after being in the Military. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the father of 3 children, The oldest being a girl and the next are two boys. I fish and hunt and have a love for Martial Arts. I spent 10 years in the military and am now a Law Enforcement Officer.

Why I am a Mormon

I married into a Mormon Family and now share a unique story with several other members. To explain a little about cops, we are survialist and have quirks and paranoias. We are protectors. With that out of the way, I was very closed to anything that I was not used to. I refused to speak religion or politics in my home. My wife had a hope of being a typical Mormon family with the love of the lord in our life. My wife had waited so long for me to open up that she lost hope. One day, 6 years after being married, I decided to ask my wife questions about her religion. This was done in response to feeling my marriage slipping away. My wife would not answer my questions, instead made an appointment for me with the missioniares in my area. A few days later, I had two LDS missionaires and a Elders Quorum President in my living room. Boy what had I done. LOL. The more i learned the more i was interested. I had been raised a Babtist and all my information was from the beginning of the Earth to the end of the Earth. There was more! I quickly felt the fire to learn and also had began recieveing the blessing from doing what our Heavenly Father had commanded me. I was able to quit smoking in under a month and without any assistance. I was also enjoying new found relationships. Our Heavenly Father commanded me to open my heart, lower my defenses and pride, and trust in him for guidence. I have experienced the Holy Ghost many times in the LDS church and have a solid testimony that it is the true church. All this I say in the name of the lord, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am still relatively new to the religion. I was very happy to accept an invitation to home teach. A person learns more when he has the addition of having to teach the word to another family. Also when it is tore down into lessons if makes it easier to remember, rather than it all flowing together by trying to sit down and read sections at a time.
