Hi I'm April

I'm a stay-at-home mom of 5 from Washington State

About Me

I was raised in the church by a mom who joined the church at 18 and a dad who served as a drill sgt. in the Army! I loved going to college and have a degree in Family Science. I served a mission in Ohio. I chose to "retire" from working at a center for at-risk kids when our oldest child was born. I love all the learning that continues as a full-time mom...I'm the cook, doctor, therapist etc. My husband and I were high school sweethearts! In my younger years I was a soccer nut. I enjoy tennis, reading, cooking and baking, dates or getaways with my husband and playing games with my kids--inside or out.

Why I am a Mormon

There have been two pivotal times in my life where I had to dig deep and decide if I wanted to continue in the gospel. It didn't take too much reflection on the joy, peace and knowlege that I enjoy from follow the Savior's gospel. Every difficult circumstance...whether health problems, a loved one's death or a premature son's birth at 28 weeks have been do-able with the strength of my beliefs put into action.

How I live my faith

The most important way I live my faith is never really seen outside my home. Starting my day (or as early as I can with 5 kids :) by reading my scriptures and saying my prayers has enriched by life and my ability to feel God's promptings regarding questions, problems or needed guidance about how to use my time to help others. As a family we like to take cookies to neighbors, help older friends and family with yard work and visit elderly ladies who may not see many visitors. I try to live a simple life to have quality time for my family and open time to help others.
