Hi I'm LeeRoy Black

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the LDS Church my whole life. I was born in Logan Utah, while my father was attending college at Utah State. I spent most of my life in Utah. I graduated from Morgan High School in 1974. I served a mission for the LDS church from September, 1975 to September 1977 in Tennessee. I married a beautiful woman, Annett Rice, in 1979. Annett had three children, so I had an instant family. We had four more children. We now have 17 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Our family loves camping, swimming and other outdoor activities.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I have been a member of the church my whole life I still had to learn for myself that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. When I served a mission in the Tennessee Nashville Mission, I learned a lot about my Savior Jesus Christ and strengthen my Testimony. It was a great experience I meet a lot of great people and I really enjoyed being in Tennessee. Godhead One of the greatest blessings of the prophet Joseph Smith was the vision he had of Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Through that vision we know that the Godhead consists of three personages, our Father in Heaven, our Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. We know that The Father and Jesus have physical bodies of flesh and bone. We know that the Holy Ghost has a spiritual body, so he can dwell in us to guide us. Our Father in Heaven, our Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are one in purpose. That purpose is to “bring to pass the immortality and Eternal life of man.” Moses 1:39 My Testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ was not just when Jesus died on the cross. In Luke 22:44 we learn that in the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus suffered so much it were as great drops of blood. Then he was crucified. As the Son of God he could have come down from the cross and destroyed his enemies, but he knew that he needed to be crucified and to be raised up again to make it possible for all of us to be resurrected and live again. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that he suffered for me and died for me. I know that as I repent for my sins I will be forgiven. I love my savior Jesus Christ and I am thankful for the great sacrifice he made for me. My testimony is always growing. I am working on my written testimony of God the Eternal Father, Jesus Christ and the Gospel. Please check back to get to different aspects of my testimony. Thank you. LeeRoy
