Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am usually a pretty active person. I don't like to be "still" for too long. I love outdoors, camping, hiking, rock climbing and so on. Some other favorites of mine are fast cars, playing pool, paintballing, attending sporting events and concerts and I assume my family would say I like spending money. Movies and music are a must in my life. My sister usually keeps me updated on all the good music, while I will take credit on keeping her informed of the best movies. I turn into a little kid when it comes to watching comic book movies such as Fantastic 4, Elektra, Iron Man and X-Men. I dont watch too much television, usually I'll just buy the seasons and watch them like a movie I'm too impatient to wait weekly for the new episodes. Traveling is something my family & friends long for each year, most of our trips take us to various parts of california. As I said before I have been known to like to spend money on traveling and shopping, this usually means that I end up working a ton. I dont like to be on the low end of the totem pole when it comes to work I find it rewarding to work my way toward the top.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel has played more of a role in my life the last 2 years than ever before. I wish that I would have recognized the importance of it sooner, but I guess you live and learn. In the short time that I've made the commitment to put Christ first I've found myself making many drastic changes, they came rapidly but I would have to throw in that they are becoming easier and easier as my testimony grows. It is amazing what the atonement can do. Christ's standards are becoming my standards as every day goes on and I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm a Mormon because I've experienced how much joy comes from living the principles that come with Christ's restored church, it has been a rough road getting here but I'm here to stay.

How I live my faith

The way that I find myself living my faith is through being an example of the believers. People have seen that I have forsaken the "worldly pleasures" to get to the place that has brought me true happiness. I would never say I'm a perfect example but I know what God has asked us to do and how he is always making it possible to reach our potential. I love sharing what I know and teaching it in a way that it applies to all.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Ryan
We believe that God is our literal father in heaven. Much like our parents or the parent we wish to become, God loves us, wants to teach us, wants us to be happy, knows what will lead us into trouble, knows what will bring happiness. He wants us to communicate (pray) openly with him, acknowledge that he is there, that he gives us all we have, and to build a relationship of trust and love with him. When I think of God I think of the father that I wish to be, to have a close relationship with my kids, to be respected and looked to for help, to be dedicated to my responsibilites, to live what I know to be true and so much more. How can I know Mormonism is true?

Ryan
If you want to know if Mormonism is true like anything in life you have to do it, give it your all, and see what it makes you. Much like a career and a family you get what you put into it. If you put a desiring heart in search to know if the church is true it will willingly apply the teachings and speedily see results. Show more Show less
