Hi I'm Erica

My husband is a medical student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a happily married mother of two small boys. I worked hard to get a master's degree in Genetics, but then I discovered that I wanted to be home with my kids. Although parenting is difficult at times, I'm grateful I can spend that time with my family. My husband is a medical school at Ohio State. Go Bucks!!! I enjoy cheering for the Buckeye football team, taking our sons to the local science museum or library, and reading just about anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm from a large family with 7 kids. I was raised in a strong Mormon household. I never felt that my parents forced religion on us. We always knew from their example what they expected from us, and how much happiness the gospel brought into our home. They always seemed so happy to be married to each other and to have all of us. When we moved away from our extended family for my husband to attend medical school, I knew that I could choose to continue attending the Mormon church and following it's traditions and counsel or not. I am so grateful for my membership in the church and the peace and strength it brings to my family. I am grateful for the counsel from the prophets and the safety it brings into my life. Specifically, I have a strong testimony that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. Avoiding alcohol, tobacco and addicting substances allows you to have greater health and freedom in your life. I believe that strong family relationships can be one of the greatest sources of joy in this life.

How I live my faith

I'm currently my ward's (congregation's) choir director. I've never conducted a choir before, but I'm having a fun time learning something new.
