Hi I'm Anton

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is originally from Holland, we migrated to South Australia in 1960, and I moved to Victoria with my wife and kids in 1989. I was married in the Church in the Philippines in 1980, but I did not join the church till 1985.We have four children, girl born in 1982, boy in 1984, boy in 1985 and girl in 1987. I am very proud of my family, of the achievements and goals that we all have.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife was Mormon when we got married, but I had no intention of ever changing religion, I was happy as a devout Catholic. My wife felt the same, but in being a Mormon. So, I felt I needed to find out what was wrong with the LDS church, so I thought I would investigate. Instead of finding what was wrong with it, I found what was right with it. I love the support young people get, and the youth organisations that are in the church have been of a great help to my children. What I like about the church is also the fact that the church does not bend the rules to maintain membership, or try to become "modern", what was right 2,000 years ago, is still right now, what was wrong then, is still wrong now. To me, the Church is a way of life, not just a once in a while process.

How I live my faith

I live my life from day to day, and try to improve a little each day. I do trip from time to time, but then you get up, dust myself off and go again. I never live in the past, but I from time to time have a quick glance to see where I have come from, just to get my bearing. Life is too short to harp on mistakes, you build a bridge and get over it as quickly as you can, and then go on with life. I always try to care for others.
