Hi I'm Spence

I grew up on a farm. Like to fix things, go fast , and drive in the rain. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Years ago I served for five years as a Bishop in our ward. Now I team teach the seven year old class in primary, my dream job. I have a regular job as a maintenance worker. My wife and I have been married for 37 years. I am 60 years young. We have been blessed with seven great children, two daughters and five sons. We also have been blessed with four daughter in laws and two son in laws. Currently our lives are kept busy with our thirteen grandchildren. Number ten had to show off by weighing in at ten pounds. I love technology. I have been blessed with a natural talent to figure out things mechanical. As a child I am one of those that would take something apart especially if it wasn't working right. I enjoy open spaces and outdoor activities. I believe that anything is possible, you just have to spend the time to work it out. It is a great time to be alive.

Why I am a Mormon

I am mormon because I know that our Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ are real and Love us. They want us to be happy and have organized this church to accomplish that. I am a life long member and my ancestors joined the church a couple of generations ago. My own beliefs were formed in my childhood and teens. When I was young I knew when I was good I felt good and felt bad when I wasn't. Later as a teen I realized that our church provided good activities for us to stay productive and happy. That was when I realized a great truth contianed in the Words of the Lord in this scripture. " For behold, this is my work‍ and my glory to bring to pass the immortality‍ and eternal life‍ of man. " Moses 1:39 It was then I decided that would be my goal also. Even though I struggle to stay on task, if I follow the council of our Church I recieve much happiness when I do. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints is complete with every thing I need for myself and my family to return to our Heavnly Father. It is wise not to visit or get stuck in the town of Meville. It is a lonely town with only one resident. Improve yourself so you can help others. The Savior taught us that if we want to be happy we need to serve others. I am grateful for this opportunity to share my testimony.

How I live my faith

I will always cherish the experiences I had while serving as Bishop. Our new Bishop was called and now has that responsibility. He is the one who has been chosen to now serve. It now becomes my responsibility to support him. I love my calling in the primary. Our Father in Heaven loves all his children. Our Youth have so much potential and considering today's world they are doing great. I try to live my faith by acting on the inspiration I receive. I have seen lives changes as they live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have also seen others turn away and suffer because of it. I know I could do more and that is my challenge to do so. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has everything a person and families need to return to our Heavenly Father. If someone is searching for true happiness living the Gospel as contained in the scriptures will give that to them. The desire of my heart is to help all I can to succeed in their quest for eternal happiness.

What is being a Mormon like?

Spence
I liken it to being on a team with all the resources necessary to win. If someone will take the time and study our beliefs they will find, it just makes sense. Many don't understand, they may feel we are misled, that it is a religion that asks to much. I have not had a large income yet our family has been blessed. Do we sacrifice to be a member? Possibly. Is it worth it? Yes yes yes. No matter where you are in the World. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint is the same. Like I said this is the team to be on. Show more Show less
