Hi I'm Kirsten

A daughter, sister, friend, wife and I hope to one day be a Mother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Daughter, Sister, Wife and hope to one day be a Mother. My father served in the armed forces so as result we moved around a lot when I was a kid. We were stationed in many different locations throughout the US. Our family learned a lot about the places and people we were stationed with. We were blessed to see the beauty of differences around us and embrace that beauty. I am now putting down roots with my husband. We have not yet been blessed with children. We have found that our road to parenthood it a little bit harder than most and are learning to find joy in the challenges of infertility. We continue to prepare for parenthood and practice our skills on the wonderful little miracles around us (nieces, nephews, friend’s kids and the children at church.) I love to garden and have found a real knack in helping things grow. I love design and décor and try my hand a new things to bring beauty to our home and yard. I also love photography and blogging which helps me to capturing memories and share them with those around me and I’m a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I remember one story in particular that solidified my testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We were living in the San Diego area and at the time the San Diego Temple was being built. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone in the community to walk through a Temple of the Lord before it was dedicated and to see what Mormon Temples looked like from the inside. I was very excited to get my first real look at a Temple. As it was being built I remember the happy feeling I would get every time we drove past it on I-8. I loved how beautiful it looked from the road and was curious about it. I was very fortunate to walk through this amazing house of the Lord. I remember the feelings that came over me as I walk through the glass doors into the San Diego Temple. My heart was so full! I felt such peace, happiness and love that it’s hard to describe in words. My eyes welled up with unshed tears. I knew that the sprit had confirmed to me that I was in the house of the Lord. The beauty and happiness that I felt from seeing the Temple from the outside where surpassed by the emotions and beauty found on the inside. I knew without a shadow of doubt that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ knew me, loved me, and that the Church was true. I also knew that someday I was going to come back to that house with my own family and have all the love and peace that I felt in his house in my life and forever.

How I live my faith

I love being a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I live my faith every day in small and simple ways. I know that my small and simple steps make a big difference to my family, community, nation and world. Most importantly, they make a difference to my Heavenly Father. I know that a smile can lift someone day. Saying “Thank You” can make all the difference. Listening to others thoughts, hopes, fears and problems can lighten a load. My actions for good can be the answer to someone else’s prayer. My service makes all the difference. It might not seem like a lot, but to whoever is on the receiving end it means everything to them.
