Hi I'm Cameron

I like to travel. I'm from Utah. I like Disneyland. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to do a wide range of things. Through my teenage years I liked to use my creativity to do art, woodworking, and make home movies with my family. My family also loves Disneyland. I think we have been there at least 60 times... but I lose count. I really enjoy traveling. One of my favorite trips was when we took a trip to Mexico. It is a goal of mine to see the world before I die.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because I love Christ. I love what he has done for me. I want to draw closer to him everyday. I want to live my life how He would want me too. I believe that being a Mormon means being a member of the church that Jesus Christ has restored in its fulness. All the privileges and blessings that were on the earth when Christ came 200 years ago, are now back. Not only do I have the Bible to help me know how to pattern and live my life, but I also have the Book of Mormon and words and counsel from modern day prophets and apostles. Living certain standards of the church has helped me avoid addictions that can hurt my spirituality. All in all, I have never found anything that can be more fulfilling and satisfying to me spiritually then to be a member of this church. That is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Well right now I am serving as a two year full time missionary for the church. I suppose that is one of the best ways I have ever lived the faith. We live a very strict schedule while we serve missions. We don't do things such as dating, going to school, working, or even watching movies. But living this way has really helped me to focus on getting in tune with Christ's spirit, which is pretty important to have. Everyday I get to focus myself on how I can bring others closer to Jesus Christ. It is definitely hard work, but it is worth every second!

What is the priesthood?

So the priesthood is the literal power and authority of God, that he has given to man, so man can act in his name for the salvation of Gods children here on earth. One must have the priesthood authority to preform a baptism, give the gift of the Holy ghost, or give a blessing. We learn from the Bible that the priesthood was given to Aaron, which gave him the authority to work in the Tabernacle. The only reason Aaron got the priesthood was because he was called of God. That is the only way anyone can get the priesthood, you must be called of God. Every worthy male in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints holds the priesthood. We receive it the by the laying on of hands by other members who already hold it, the same way that Christ gave it to his Apostles. The priesthood is a very important part of Christs church, and it is a very real thing. Show more Show less

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

Nope, there are not. True, before the 1980's or so the priesthood was not held by African American members of the church. But you have to remember that the priesthood is God's to give, not man. In the Old Testament times, out of all the Children of Israel, God only gave the priesthood to the Levites. In the 1980's, the Church leaders received revelation from God that the time had now come for all worthy males in the church to receive the priesthood. It is also important to note that even though the priesthood wasn't given to everyone until the 1980's, there was never a restriction on who could join the church. All were always welcome, and all could play a part in the church.  Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that it is only through the Grace of Christ that any of us can be saved. It is as simple as that. There is nothing I can ever do that will make it so I can save myself. It 100 depends on Christ. However, Christ has commanded us to do some things in order for us to obtain his grace. Obviously, we need to have faith in him. Our works also play a part. Works such as being baptized, receiving the Holy ghost, obeying all his commandments, repenting when we sin or make mistakes, and in all things enduring faithfully to the end of our lives. If we do that then we will qualify for His grace to lift us up to live with Him and our Heavenly Father again. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Well this is a pretty easy question to answer... Of course we do! I read the Bible quite often in my life. I have always used it when I have gone to church ever since I was a kid. The Bible has really blessed my life and I am thankful to have it. Just as I am thankful to have the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

I don't know how we can stop the spread of it. Everyday pornography gets spread farther and farther. But I do believe that you can control the influence it has on yourself. It just takes self control. Don't look at it. When you come across it, turn away immediately and don't look back. It is extremely addictive and destructive to your soul. If you are already having problems with it, say a prayer and stop now. Seek help from loved ones. Pornography is one of Satan's greatest tools of separating us from Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father.  Show more Show less
