Hi I'm Yvon J. Dupuis

I was born in Montreal, Quebec and converted to the Church with my wife when we were living in Calgary, Alberta.

About Me

I am father to nine children and grandfather to ten, I have been married for over 34 years. I currently work as a Contract Specialist/ Professional Consultant in the transportation industry and travel to various parts of the world where my services are required, My hobbies are in the fine arts, house renovations and genealogy research. I am a Canadian who has found a home in the US where most of my children now live.

Why I am a Mormon

My father died at the age of 48 of a massive stroke at work. Before he died we had a discussion about life after death, he did not believe there was and I did so he said "if there is I will let me know". Well he did a few months after his death in a dream I saw him talking to a man in white under a tree beside a stream which I could not cross, when he saw me he came over the stream and he was in his regular suit and we embraced. I was happy to see that he was well and not alone but he would not tell me who he was with but assured me that the person he was talking to was with him all the time. A few months later my wife met a Mormon girl and was excited for me to speak to her about religion, I had studied all major religions of the world while in college and said what is one more! When we received the Book of Mormon, my wife was converted almost immediately but would not tell me. It took me awhile to read a few pages but when I came to Lehi's dream I froze and realized that I had the same experience, I prayed to see if the book of Mormon was true and had the same experience as Joseph Smith except I only heard a voice say "Yes my son". It was enough for me to get the discussions from the missionaries with my wife and were baptized a week later. We are the only members on either side of the family and it has not been easy but the journey has been worth it and we have never looked back and understood we made the right decision. I know Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God and loves his children so much that he has sent his servant Joseph Smith to restore His eternal truths and lead the way as Prophet to the people of the earth. We have a living Prophet today who also leads the way and is the mouthpiece of the Lord, you may know this too through exercising a portion of faith and pray to Him to know the truth of His restored church.

How I live my faith

Service is the essence of our life in the church, the more you serve the more you grow spiritually. I have served in many capacities and had the opportunity to teach the youth and adults. I find the greatest joy in serving in the temple and doing genealogy work with my children. I make sure that employers know my standards and values which I live by to avoid any misunderstanding or compromizing situation. Listening to people is key to undersstanding and building lasting relationships and show respect towards all.
