Hi I'm Karen Michelle

I am a wife, mother, teacher and baker. I am a Mormon.

About Me

After studying Marriage, Family and Human Development and graduating from college, I married and am now a mom to an adorable 6-year-old boy. While he's in school, I sell homemade bread at a local shop and work as a substitute in the school. I also participate in school activities as a volunteer and enjoy singing in a local group.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to be born in the church and raised in a home where the gospel was taught. As I grew older and started to make my own decisions, I knew that being in the church was the best way to live my life. I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ and in His sacrifice for each of us, whether we choose to accept it or not. One of the greatest blessings in my life (aside from my family) is living close to the grove where Joseph Smith prayed. Each time I visit that sacred place, I remember that God hears our prayers and answers them.

How I live my faith

We have a small unit of members in our area, so opportunities to serve and be a part are frequent. In the church, each woman is part of a service organization that was created to encourage and develop the natural compassion that women possess. As the member of this organization, I am privileged to participate with the women in our area as we help others by teaching them the gospel, bringing meals, and being a friend. Being in a place where there are not a lot of members provides many opportunities to tell others about the church and to teach others of the joy of the gospel. I try my best to live my life in a way that people want to know more about Jesus Christ because they know me.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Karen Michelle
Yes, they can. In the bible, we read prophecies of a time when the authority to bind marriages would be restored. Those prophecies have been fulfilled. I find great comfort in knowing that my husband and I will be together forever with our son because we were married by the proper authority. Death cannot separate us forever. Show more Show less
