Hi I'm Erin

I am a daughter, sister, student. I love reading, writing, and sharing! I am a Mormon.

About Me

Being from Utah, the most common assumption made about me is that I was born a Mormon. This assumption would be correct. My parents raised my 4 sisters and I in the LDS religion, which was a secure foundation for the first part of my life. Like most young adults, I became confused about a great many things, and I made the choice to go exploring away from my parents faith. I struggled to find what I went looking for. I had seen much happiness when I had been an active participant in the LDS faith, so I made the decision to investigate it's teachings further myself. What I found was this; My Heavenly Father loves me and wants what is best for me. He provided a Savior for me so that I would never be left alone to fight my battles in life. I will always be indebted to Christ and God for my happiness and the hope they have given me in life! I'm am now a college student, struggling to make it on my own! I trust in the Lord though and I know He will never leave me, especially when I need him most as long as I'm doing what is right. I love learning and am anxious to see where this path will take me! The hope I gained as a younger adult has stuck with me and I have received many more blessings from My Father. I love life, life loves me, and I think I will continue to choose to keep this blossoming relationship!

Why I am a Mormon

Love is what has spoken to me. A lot of people I have met seem to think our religion is full of mystery and can therefore be of no use to them. I'd like to declare that there is nothing short of love shared in this faith. Love from a Heavenly Father, everlasting love from a Savior and Redeemer; these things spoke to me like none other. I have felt more wanted by choosing to follow commandments and teachings of the Christ, than I have ever been acting otherwise. This is why I choose to be Mormon.

How I live my faith

Seeing as I have no family of my own, I attend church with a congregation made up of people just my age! We enjoy sharing one another's thoughts and feelings on different subjects, especially those related to the Savior's church. My family and I enjoy sharing our thoughts and feelings with one another and provide strength and support to each other as most families do! I can't imagine living my life another way!

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

The Bible is the Word of God. It contains the testimonies of apostles and prophets of the life of Jesus Christ. We cannot have such an extensive knowledge of the Savior if we do not have the teachings from the Bible. It also is a substantial support to the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ because it secures the testimonies borne by the prophets in the BofM. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

I dress for church in a manner that will show respect to God and Christ. Usually you will see crowds of us walking into our church buildings wearing things like suits, ties, and slacks for the men & boys and skirts, dresses, etc for the women and girls. We attend every Sunday so as to receive spiritual nourishment, as well as to renew our promises we've made with the Lord. As far as holidays go, I'm happy to say we celebrate our Savior's birth as well as His resurrection! Christmas and Easter have always provided me with fond memories and wonderful faith building moments! We also celebrate the national holidays and other days such as birthdays and anniversaries!
