Hi I'm Chelsea

I'm a mother, a wife, a food and culture enthusiast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young mother of one, living in Asia with my husband. While it's sometimes difficult to live so far from home and everything familiar, I have loved having the opportunity to understand more about this part of the world. Ironically, when I go "home" to visit, I have found I miss much about the place we are living--ESPECIALLY the food! I LOVE being a stay at home mom and have not once regretted quitting my job in order to do so. My boy makes me laugh a million times a day and is helping me rediscover the joy that comes from slowing down and noticing the world around me. Although I received my bachelors degree in anthropology a few years ago, my educational pursuits are never ending. Currently, I'm "studying" nutrition, parenting, photography, and painting. I find I never have enough time but when I do have a few minutes, I enjoy reading, running and spending time with my sweetheart of 5 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and baptized at the age of 8 and as simple as it may sound, I have always known this church to be true. As a young adult I always wanted a "dramatic" conversion story filled with life changing events and gripping details, later I came to appreciate the "story" that is mine. While I cannot pinpoint my conversion to one specific moment, I have a lifetime of experiences that have confirmed to me that this is indeed the one true church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have especially come to understand the love my Heavenly Father has for me. I am so grateful to have had the truth of His gospel in my life. It has been a constant source of peace and provided direction in my life. It has helped me gain an understanding of who I am, where I am going and what is truly important in this life.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday I ride the bus with my 1 year old son, and husband for 40 minutes to reach our chapel where we love meeting with our ward (congregation). My favorite part is singing the hymns with them. I'm not the most musically gifted but there is an incredible spirit that comes from the way we all sing. Our testimonies are shared through our singing and I truly feel we are raising our voices to heaven. I have the opportunity to teach the four and five year olds during Sunday School. They are a delight and help me focus on the basics of the gospel. Since I am with the children I often try to attend the monthly activities that are held for the woman of my church as well as participate in visiting teaching. My family as only attended this ward for 3 years now but they truly feel like family and we love spending time with them at church activities or simply as friends! It has truly been a blessing to know even when we live on the other side of the world we can find "family" where ever we may be.
