Hi I'm Melanie!

I am a wife, photographer and convert to the Gospel. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite things are spending time with my husband, family and friends, I love being surrounded by those special people! I also love meeting new people and talking their ears off. I enjoy going on adventures and exploring the different cities my husband and I have lived in. I have a BFA in Photography and love to photograph anything and everyone. Film and the darkroom are passions of mine. It's amazing to see an image develop right before your eyes! I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wisconsin and my knowledge and testimony of the Restored Gospel deepened tremendously. I found so much joy, love and peace teaching and serving those Wisconsinites. I learned from those I taught that through God anything is possible. I am so excited to be a mother one day! The knowledge that families are forever brings me great comfort in all the "unknowns" and "what if's" of parenting. I look forward to nurturing a family with my husband in the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because two young men selflessly went out to serve the Lord, found me and taught me where I came from and that my Heavenly Father loves me. I was found when I was 11 years old and I have been forever grateful for the answer that the Lord gave me to be baptized by the power of the Priesthood. Over the years I have looked back on when the missionaries found me and the events that took place after becoming a member of the LDS church. I continue to find this quote to be quite true, “God does notice us, and he watches over us. But it is usually through another person that he meets our needs” - President Spencer W. Kimball The Elders changed my life by introducing me to the Gospel. The members of my family ward where I was baptized have helped me become who I am today through their examples. My former Young Women's President has impacted my life eternally, she helped me see and feel the light of Christ when I was in total darkness. I am a Mormon because I hope I can be an instrument in the Lord's hands like others were to me. Understanding my purpose here on earth through the Lord's eyes has given me great comfort and peace during the hard times and it has given me strength to continue on in the best of times. I especially hold dear the knowledge that my Heavenly Father knows me perfectly. He knows what is best for me and if I keep Him at the center of my life all will be wonderful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always remember what the Savior would have done. He was our greatest example of how to live our own personal lives and how to serve others. I try to be optimistic and hopeful about any trial I or my family may face. I have found that seeing the positives even when I feel I am drowning in negatives really helps me see that the Lord really is there for me. I love to accompany the Sister Missionaries in our area as they teach others about the Gospel. It has been a great way to be involved and meet new people in my community. It also is such a blessing to be able to serve others. My husband and I previously taught the 4-5 year old Primary kids and we learned so much from their sweet little personalities. They helped me to truly see how important it is to be childlike. They were so full of love, happiness and confidence in knowing they were God's children. Now I have the opportunity to meet with the 8-11 year old girls a couple times a month! It is so fun to help them with activities that teach them how wonderful it is that we have the Restored Gospel!
