Hi I'm Daniel

I converted to teh Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints after a devoted life as a mainstream Christian.

About Me

I am a son of an evangelical preacher, who taught me to love the Lord and revere His word. Despite my imperfections, I have always strived to serve the Lord in all that I do, and grow with each new experience. I am currently an education major in an onlnie university, and hope to be teaching formally in a few years. My intellectual interests are rooted in teh social sciences, but I enjoy learning whenever the opportunity arises. I have an amazing wife and two darling children. My wife is a life-long member of the Church, and played an unmistable role in my change of heart. Her patience and lvoe through the roughest of times has aided me tremendously as I've grown into the man I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

After a considerable amount of prayer and pondering, I received an undeniable personal witness from teh Holy Ghost that this church is true.

How I live my faith

Faith grows by smal and simple things. Daily prayer and tithing serve to strengthen my faith as I have seen a multitude of blessings result from these actions. Likewise, as I have made it a habit to attend church regularly, and magnify every calling that I have received to the best of my ability, I have seen personal growth come to me in ways that would have been otehrwise impossible.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Absolutely. Often times my wife is the heart and soul of our family, and graces it in ways that I never could. While only men may hold the priesthood, women have the ability to serve in a truly equal capacity, and grace teh world around them through their love and devotion in a variety of critical ways. Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We believe that the avoidance of certain substances promote physical and spiritual well-being. Though alchohol was used in limited quantities during the time of the Savior, it is critical to understand that such drinks were incredibly mild by today's standards, and were a reasonable alternative to contamentated drinking water. Though the jury is still out on tea and coffee, there is mounting evidence that these drinks may be harmful to our long-term health. Not only do such hot drinks carry the potential of damaging certain portions of the digestive system, some studies have indicated a link between excessive caffene and cancer. THe key principle in all this is that our body is truly a temple of the Lord, and shoudl be treated as such. Any substance or lifestyle habit that can harm this precious gift in any way should be avoided. We honor our Heavenly Father by treating our mortal body with teh care, respect, and dignity that it truly deserves. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

We sustain teh Bible as the word of God, and treasure its teachings and insight. However, many truths that were well-known in times past were lost over the course of history. To clarify the full gospel of Jesus Christ, the angel Moroni was sent from Heaven to restore the entire gospel of the Savior (see Revelation 15:8). The Book of Mormon stands as a second witness of the Savior, and provides clarity and understanding of the plan of salvation. Through these means, such precious fgifts as the priesthood and modern revelation were permenantly restored to the earth. Show more Show less
