Hi I'm Buffie

I'm a student. I'm Asian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I'm a college student studying Civil Engineering. With the free time I have, I like to sleep, play video games, and hang out with family and friends. I love learning. I love creating and making things. I love my wonderful family and amazing friends. I love what the gospel given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to stay in the church because through the gospel I have freedom and I can grow into the best person I can be. While many people may say Mormons have a lot of rules and restriction that keeps us from living life, I can live life to the fullest without any aid substance. From the gospel I learn how I can live a life full of joy. During times of hardship, the gospel has given me ways to overcome sadness and despair life can give us. I know there will be a happy ending.

How I live my faith

Many people think that that you can't be an Asian and a Mormon at the same time. I think otherwise. The each ward is a community and is full of diversity. I live my faith by participate in my ward. Every member are given callings or job assignments that help address the needs of the ward. By having responsibility and doing my best to complete the task I feel like I'm part of a great community. Also these calling have given me opportunities to develop new skills. By helping each other bonds with other members are strength and I have made lots of close and great friends.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Buffie
Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. It is a voluntary service that faithful members can participate. Men are strongly encouraged to serve a mission as part of their priesthood duties, but can choose not to through their free agency. Women do not have this responsibilities, but if they have a strong desire to serve the are more than welcome to offer their service to the Lord. Even if a member is unable to serve a full-time mission, every member can be a member-missionary and share the gospel with others. Show more Show less
