Hi I'm Stacy

I'm a country girl. I'm a floor hockey playing, craft making, party hosting wife and mother of 2 boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a country girl. I grew up across from a field of wheat. My summers were spent fly fishing knee deep in the river and reading books on the cool green grass. I'm a city girl. My husband and our 2 young sons have enjoyed moving between 4 major cities in the world a dozen times in our short married life. I love to find the beauty in the world around me where ever I go. I truly believe in seeking for the positive because I know I will find it. I love to create things with my hands, bake delicious food, organize anything, host parties, explore the zoo and I am a girly girl who plays a tough game of floor hockey. I love living a full life!

Why I am a Mormon

My family has Mormon roots back to the time of Joseph Smith. I feel it a blessing and an honor to have been raised in a family who followed the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although I was taught the teachings of the church, I was not forced to follow. Through my own searching and study of the scriptures and the counsel of prophets I have felt the promptings of the Holy Spirit testifying to me that this church is the true church of Christ. Having had that witness, I cannot, and will not, go back. I am a Mormon because I know, in my heart and soul, that it is the best treasure I will ever find.

How I live my faith

I love to serve others! Right now I am the youth leader over a group of young women ages 12-18. I try to serve as an example to the youth as a mother, wife, friend and advocate. Each week I help provide opportunities for the youth to learn of the Savior, Jesus Christ. I also plan and support activities and dances for the youth. Every year, our youth groups have a new theme. For 2011, our theme is: "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous and in doing good to all men. Indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul. We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely or of good report or praiseworthy we seek after these things." Outside of my youth leadership, I share monthly messages of Christ and provide service to other women. Most importantly, I live my faith in my home. In the words of my grandpa, "No time spent with your family is ever wasted". Those words are etched in my heart and have influenced me to take my roll as a wife and mother very seriously. My husband and I desire for our 2 sons to have the opportunity to feel the love of God in their lives. In addition to daily family prayer and scripture study, I help plan a weekly family night dedicated to gospel principles and everyday lessons in manners, service, safety and other life skills. I do this to help strengthen my family relationships and bring us closer to God. I try to live my faith every day.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Stacy
More than anything else, I want to be with my family forever. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have come to understand that the Lord has shown me how I can. Jesus Christ has made it possible for me to be with my family here on earth and forever more, never to be apart again, if I live worthy of those promised blessings. Unlike the popular views of the world, I know we must do our part and put forth effort to receive anything. The gifts of God are no different. The Lord is bound to bless us when we obey His commandments. I try to live my life worthy of those blessings. We believe that marriage can be, and is, sealed for eternity in God's holy temples, under proper priesthood authority. What that means is that in the temple, under the direction of one who has been given the authority to perform a temple sealing, a man and a woman make promises to each other and God to be loyal to one another forever. If those promises are kept, we may receive the gift of an eternal marriage, as well as an eternal family. This promise gives me strength to overcome the temptations that may come my way. I want to be with my husband and my children for as long as possible, and forever sounds great to me! Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Stacy
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son." God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to earth to live, suffer for our sins, die and live again. Christ served as a sacrifice for us. He suffered so that we may repent of our sins and be clean before God and live in His presence after our time on earth is done. I'm not perfect, by any means, but I have access to the power of the atonement which enables me to repent and get back on track when I go astray. I know that everyone has access and can be partakers of the atonement, no matter the depth of our sins. I know this is true because, as I have exercised my faith, I have partaken of the atonement and felt clean again. With repentance I receive a renewed optimism in my ability to do good and become more like my Savior. I will be eternally grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ, for he truly is the Savior of the World. Show more Show less
