Hi I'm Sarah

I live in Washington state. I love being active. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and a mom of two girls, ages six and ten. We love to spend time together as a family by participating in a variety of sports, sharing dedicated family nights, and spending fun quality time with extended family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by goodly, loving parents who lived the Gospel diligently and taught by example. I have been blessed with a life filled with much joy but also known the anguish of deep sorrow. Through it all, I have never been or felt alone. I know God loves me and knows me personally. I continue to choose to be a member of this church because I know of a surety that it is the one true and complete Gospel of Jesus Christ. I choose to be a member of this church because I know of a surety the Book of Mormon is true and feel enormously blessed to have this additional witness of Jesus Christ. l know that by striving to live gospel principles I will stay close to my Father in Heaven and I will be blessed with true joy and peace.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in church, and have enjoyed and learned tremendously each time. Currently I teach the 11-12 year old boys and girls, we are studying the New Testament this year. This is the first time I have been called as a teacher and I am loving it! I have grown immensely as a result and am grateful to get to know and serve the wonderful kids in my class.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No. We help everyone, regardless of their faith or circumstances. We recently participated in a community service project September 11, 2010, clearing and restoring a community park that had been overgrown with English Ivy. It was so much fun! We got to meet and work alongside members of the city council and the Rotary and Elks club, and we made a huge impact in helping make the park available for future use. On a personal level, I diligently look to help anyone I come across on a daily basis. Can I hold a door open for someone? Does the young mom who's car alarm is sounding need assistance? Hm, the lady in that blue Honda has been waiting a long time to turn right--let's pause and help her out. Pass along random acts of kindness, it creates a pleasant community. Show more Show less
